1ST LONDON SCREENING - Director Glenn McQuaid’s brilliant homage to 60s Amicus anthologies and Hammer horror proved such a hit at Film4 FrightFest Glasgow in February. So here’s another chance to see this witty and wacky high-calibre cult hit. 18th century justice has finally caught up with two of the craftiest grave robbers in town. With only a few hours to go before his date with the guillotine, body snatcher Arthur Blake (LOST and LORD OF THE RINGS star Dominic Monaghan) tells his life story to Father Francis Duffy (HELLBOY’s Ron Perlman). How he got into the corpse-peddling business with seasoned ghoul Willie Grimes (cult producer/director Larry Fessenden) procuring fresh cadavers for the fiendish Dr. Quint (PHANTASM icon Angus Scrimm). And his legendary adventures in the stiff trade with vampires, zombies and violent gang rivalries all playing their part. You’ll never trust a corpse again after seeing McQuaid’s valentine to our British heritage of horror.
Also showing on Sunday 30th at 7.00 pm.
