1ST LONDON SCREENING - It’s the EL MARIACHI of zombie movies and became the sensation of the Cannes Film Festival 2009. Made for an alleged £45 and filmed on location in and around London, director Marc Price’s ‘zombie movie with heart’ took 18 months to shoot and he did it by advertising for actors on Facebook. To help keep Price’s budget at an all-time low, he had people bring their own lights, costumes and equipment. Even his make-up people borrowed stuff from the last movie they’d worked on, WOLVERINE! The focus is on Colin (Alastair Kirton) and follows his shambling journey from death to un-death as civilization decimated by an apocalyptic plague comes to a grinding halt in the background. Once bitten, Colin shuffles around a London collapsing into anarchy, the human survivors unfortunate enough to cross his path offering horrific snapshots of stories unfolding in other parts of the doomed city.
Also showing on Monday 31st at 11 am.
