UK PREMIERE - A Paris heist goes wrong and bank robber Black is the only thief to escape alive. Looking to lay low for a while he accepts a job in Senegal involving millions in diamonds. How difficult can it be when African bankers and police are considered jokes amongst hardened criminals? But it’s not called the Dark Continent for nothing and soon Black becomes involved in a vicious power-struggle linking a maniacal, island-dwelling millionaire who’s slowly turning into a snake, a crazy Russian general, witches, Shamans, machete-wielding wrestlers, and two antiheroes imbued with lion king powers. Director Pierre Laffargue’s wild and unpredictable ride through multi-genres is a hugely engaging live-action cartoon. Starting out as an offbeat crime thriller, this gloriously lunatic oddity takes on aspects of Sixties Euro-Spy mania and Seventies blaxploitation before turning into a fully-fledged supernatural battle between animalistic Good and Evil. SHAFT IN AFRICA meets CAT PEOPLE. We know you can’t wait!
