1.45 PM - FRIDAY 28TH - BEWARE THE MOON (18) Directed by Paul Davis. Featuring John Landis, Rick Baker, Jenny Agutter, David Naughton and Griffin Dunne. UK, 2009, 98 minutes.
WORLD PREMIERE - Everything you ever wanted to know about John Landis’ classic chiller is here in this ace documentary written and directed by Paul Davis. Interviews with all the cast and crew, plus never-before-seen unused and test footage relate the story of Landis’ 1981 gore-filled re-imagining of a classic monster staple. Landis explains how he wrote the script in 1969 based on a creepy event witnessed while on location in Yugoslavia with KELLY’S HEROES. Why it took 12 years to finance. Choosing the cast. How Rick Baker created his Oscar-winning werewolf transformation in the brightest of lights required by his director. And how the spectacular Piccadilly Circus climax was filmed in the heart of London’s glittering West End. Reminiscences from leads David Naughton, Griffin Dunne, Jenny Agutter, John Woodvine and even the cast of the porno film-within-the-film ‘See You Next Wednesday’ make this ‘Making of’ one of the most detailed and very best.
