MIDNIGHT - FRIDAY 28TH - MACABRE (18) Directed by The MO Brothers. Starring Shareefa Daanish, Julie Estelle, Imelda Therrine, Sigi Wimala and Ario Bayu. Singapore 2009, 93 minutes.

UK PREMIERE - Meet the Mother of Fears! A gore galore shocker from The MO Brothers whose quest to crash-marry the sleekness of East-Asian horror movement with the stylishness of the American terror wave triumphs in the feature remake of their acclaimed short DARA. Newly weds Adjie and 8-months pregnant Astrid are moving from Jakarta to Australia. Before they go Adjie wants to reconcile with his estranged sister Ladya and asks her and three friends to see them off at the airport. But then they pick up distressed hitchhiker Maya and their decision to take her home results in a crimson hell. For Maya’s mother Dara is a woman of ageless enigma and horrifying tastes who has raised three deadly protégés in a cult of cannibalism where newborn baby is a delicacy. Let the slaughter begin. The bloodiest movie Film4 FrightFest has ever shown, MACABRE is a grisly masterpiece of unhinged mayhem.

Also playing - Paris By The Night Of The Living Dead. Directed by Gregory Morin. Starring Karina Testa, David Saracino and Dominique Bettenfeld. France, 2009, 13 minutes.

A young married couple has to survive in a post apocalyptic Paris filled with zombies. Will love triumph over death?
