Priding itself on an appreciation and cultivation of international genre cinema, FrightFest felt compelled to - in the safety of daylight - engage in conversation with ‘the girl’, the title character of Ana Lily Amirpour’s Iranian-American vampire flick A GIRL WALKS HOME ALONE AT NIGHT. Leading lady Sheila Vand’s latest addition to the vampire canon, whose ominous silent incarnation would reconnect with Max Schreck’s Nosferatu were it not for the skateboard reflected: “I was excited by the challenge of playing a supernatural character, and exploring what it means to be part human and part monster.” .
