Re: Night of the creeps

Love it! One of my favourite horror films... so many quotable lines. Would love it if this got a retro screening at a FF event one year...

Adam Green talks about Frozen

Hey everyone, We've got a new podcast that went live yesterday: http://www.chrisandphilpresent.co.uk/?p=4713 With Frozen finally getting a theatrical release later this month I took the opportunity to sit down with Adam Green at FrightFest and speak to him about the film. Also in this episode is my ...

Re: The Loved Ones

Best film of the festival in my opinion, such a shame it is going straight to DVD in the UK as it deserves to reach a wider audience. If anyone is interested, I will be interviewing the director Sean Byrne very soon so if anyone has any questions about the film that they'd like answered then please ...

Re: cherry tree lane 'vs' Christopher Roth

I'd also recommend seeing Red, White & Blue... although I'll admit it will probably be an audience splitter. I believe Noah Taylor might be along for the screening on Monday too - he currently lives down in Brighton (well, Hove actually...)!

Re: FRIGHTFEST 2010 LINEUP!!!

Alan's also just posted a new blog detailing the reasons behind Kaboom's withdrawl.

Shame, I was looking forward to that one, sounded very different from the other films on offer.

Re: Monsters V Burning Bright

I'd definitely check out Monsters , have heard nothing but praise about this film and think it will be one of the highlights of this year's festival. If you can't see Burning Bright on the Friday morning then you won't have long to wait as the UK DVD release is 6th Sept and you can get it for under ...

Re: films we just saw

Predators *breathes huge sigh of relief* Maybe we can forget those AvP films ever existed now? Within the first five minutes I relaxed - this looks, sounds and feels like a Predator film should. Not a remake or a reboot, it's simply a new installment that the makers view as their own sequel to the ...

Re: What are you most looking forward to?

It's a tough one to call, but I'm going to select:

Dream Home
Monsters
A Serbian Film
Burning Bright
Kaboom

Have already seen The Loved Ones (worth staying up late for) and Outcast (okay - but was a test screening so might have been tweaked since then).

Re: Where are you sitting?

Our group are in Q 17-21 - same seats as last year. I would have moved back to the tiered seating but there were no aisle seats available by the time I got to the front of the queue. STun is sat directly in front of us in P17. Quite happy with those seats though as they make for a quick exit/late en...

Re: Fright Faces!

I'm Phil, nearing 40, and I've been a loyal supporter of FrightFest since it started in 2000. Some of you will know me as I've written stuff for FrightFest before including the 'TV Eye' blog, some postcards from Toronto and and also the 'Rough Guide' in the previous years' programmes. I also used to...

Re: The State Of British Cinemas

Excellent piece from Evrim. I'm sure many things have improved for cinemagoers over the past few decades, I think the problem is with *us* the cinemagoers and the climate that we live in today - which as Evrim rightly says, for many, the cinema is viewed as an extension of your living room. Indeed, ...
