Re: what are you reading?

Stephen King's Under The Dome. Am about 250 pages in and really enjoying it so far, but it's so heavy to read in bed (have got the hardback from the library)! I can't help thinking of it as 'Under The Tome' (I know, terrible pun).

Re: Paranormal investigations

I think if you get a group of 6 or less together and pay around £250, you can still do a 'ghost sit'/sleep-in at Muncaster Castle in West Cumbria: http://www.muncaster.co.uk/ Can't see a link to it but might be worth contacting them if you're interested...I've never done it, but that's mainly becaus...

Re: what dvds are we buying?

I virtually never buy DVDs as we have so many and also rent them, but I did notice that my local Poundland has 'The Horseman' on DVD, which was shown at FF09, I believe.

Re: what dvds are we buying?

I'm not convinced that it will last as long as five more years - it's often cheaper or not much more to buy the same DVD in one of the supermarkets new than it is to rent there.

I don't buy DVDs any more except as presents - LoveFilm keeps me plenty busy!

Re: Cherry Tree Lane

I wasn't keen - it seemed to me to take elements of Eden Lake social commentary with elements of Ils, and throw in a bit of Funny Games without any of the humour. I think I'd have preferred it if it hadn't taken itself so seriously.

Re: The Tortured

Yep, hence my Horseman comparison... He had to pursue too. Also, in The Tortured, when the parents were torturing him to try and get him to say the kid's name, and he finally did, which they thought proved guilt (or, rather, rememberance) - surely that should have been the catalyst for a harsher, m...

Re: Goodie bag

The freebie t-shirts last year turned out to be very handy for Mr S and I - I got huge ones to wear in hospital, he got to wear ones as our stay ended up being longer than originally planned  That was lucky then, how long did you end up staying for? We ended up stuck until Saturday morning an...

Re: so what are y'all listening to while you read n type?

Just listening to Nick Harper's 'Double Life', a compilation of some of his best tracks live. It's basically just him and his guitar, kind of folk-rock-pop.

I will be avoiding seeing any of his films now after doing such a shitty thing. What a tool.

Re: films we just saw

Toy Story 3 - maybe not quite like most of the other stuff people have been watching, but it's the first time I've been to the cinema since FF 2010 and it was great to get out! Absolutely loved it, some genius ideas in there, much better than 1 and 2.

Just about to start Twilight Watch after really enjoying Night and Day Watch. Hopefully it's as good as the previous two.

Just Ichi The Killer, and I suspect a lot of people on here will have seen it. From the sound of the ones I haven't seen, though, it sounds like most are not really my kind of thing.
