Re: The Woman

My film of the festival

Just noticed that this film could be read as a sequel / companion piece to the other Jack Ketchum scripted movie Offspring. in which Pollyanna McIntosh plays the role of "woman" - part of a clan of feral cannibals.

Re: films we just saw

got to agree with the above. if it was not overshadowed by the superb original Let Me In would be on everyones "films of the year" list - beautifully done.

Wow - quite an experience. A powerful and disturbing film that more than delivered upon the hype. My head is still reeling from some of the images put up on screen last night, a film that I wont forget in a hurry, but not one I will be revisiting any time soon. I don't know enough about the Serbian ...

Re: Primal

An excellent little film that does nothing particularly new, but keeps things moving along and a cracking pace, great cast, gloopy effects, and a great f...

Re: films we just saw

Saw this today and doubt I'll see a more duller two hours of cinema this year... Deeply affecting and moving -- not with me it wasn't :([/quote] Thats a shame - interestingly I got a similar response in these forums when I was raving about the book a couple of years ago. I guess that its one of thos...

Re: films we just saw

Just saw a preview of The Road with a Q&A with director John Hillcoat. This is powerful un-compromising film making that pretty much stays true to the original novel. Deeply affecting and moving. At the end of the Q&A Hillcoat stressed that films like this are getting harder to make and need...

Hi Oly, welcome to the forum. Its good to have your insightful comments added to the mix. I also enjoyed your deconstruction of Drag me to Helljavascript:emoticon(''). Keep up the good work! Though I would have to ask if you are sure that you are in the right place
