Re: From the beginning
I began at the beginning in 2000 and attended every year until 2014. I have been bringing up my 9 (then) year old son on my own since then (12 now) so have been unable to attend. Really missed the festival but hope to dip my toe back in with a day pass this year or next. If anyone is interested my b...

Hyperdrive Sci-Fi and Fantasy Film Festival
Hi All A quick heads up on a film festival organised my good friend Tim at the Hailsham Pavilion Cinema East Sussex on 10th and 11th October 2015. Tim has put an enormous amount of effort over the last year getting this together and the profits are going to charity. There are 34 films showing (featu...

Re: Top Five Films
We seem to be on broadly the same page Aylmer, though I am with Richard on the I Spit on Your Grave remake - no matter the production value the story is low rent for me - I never got that it was a female revenge movie, its a film for guys and a pretty distasteful and pointless one IMO. Totally agree...

Re: Top Five Films
I note Richard Streets top 5 is pretty similar to mine (I didn't see Your Next and should have put Odd Thomas not No One Lives - senior moment) and believe he and I are of a similar age (47) and have a similar festival history (shock around the clock/Eurofests etc - we previously discussed this on h...

Re: Shouting At People Regarding Phones During Movies
I agree that some shouted to early having not given people the chance to turn off phones and hope that trend does not continue but would not say there were no requests to ask for phones to be switched off once phones . I had to ask 4 different people to switch their phones off during films over the ...

Re: The Last Days
Really good movie. Possibly the best of the weekend for me. Beautifully shot, good acting, great visuals and I was not concerned by the vagueness of the panic. Going to oppose streetwr though, I don't mind the ending and I understand the ending but: 1. I am british and therefore hot wired to be cyni...

Re: Shouting At People Regarding Phones During Movies
I thought the level of people using phones was greatly reduced this year and personally I would thank everyone for that. It has improved dramatically over the last couple of years. With regard to shouting at people using phones I thought most were polite in asking, as they should be, though I do agr...

Re: sleepy queue
Hi All Having been to every single Frightfest but having never been part of the sleepy queue I was considering going down this year (always bought my tickets online). I cant actually get there until approx 10.30 and wondered am I still likely to get a ticket given how far back in the queue I am like...

Was FF 13 any worse or better than other years?
Over the weekend I found myself thinking it was a really weak year with not enough quality films but now with distance and hindsight I wonder if I was being harsh. A number of posters have bemoaned a lack of quality this year and more often than not the comparison is 'where's the films to compare wi...

It was an often funny but unremarkable way to pass 1.5 hours. Well made but nothing I haven't seen a 100 times before.

Re: Bad Behaviour
Lou I echo your sentiments. I have attended every Frightfest and this is an element who behave in this way every year. Particular gripes for me are: Mobile Phones: Yes, that old chestnut, but this year I was able to obtain a different perspective on this hugely annoying distraction. For the first ti...

Has Gorezone magazine gone bust?
Nothing seems to be happening with the magazine but I cant find anything on the net highlighting its fate.
