Decent enough action movie. Good fight scenes, with a reasonable amount of thought put into people's equipment and tactics. The lead channelled his inner David Boreanaz quite effectively.

7/10
Yeh - He did remind me physically of a younger David Boreanaz too

Re: Enhanced

The first two comments I read on this movie summed up for me what I always love about Frightfest - the huge range of opinions on the same movie from the I loved it to what a shiloh pitt :D Personally I liked it, decent sci-fi plot X-Men-ish , good effects and fight sequences and watchable performanc...

Re: Hall

Long lockdown 'short' beforehand ("Day 14"?) was good. 8/10 But Hall itself spent a long time setting up a couple of the characters and then just... gone. There's only so much pointless crawling down a hallway that I can watch. Why does the girl think her father's pushing a trolley in the basement?...

Re: Skull: The Mask

Absolutely top shelf effort - the combo of supernatural horror, slasher, modern cultural commentary was really well done - simple and not overwhelming the story of the visuals. The city scenes and shots were really tight and enclosed too so you got a sense of how small the world was that they were ...

Re: FrightFest August

I'm glad Ian and the rest of the boys made the effort to still have Frightfest for the August Bank Hol weekend - it wouldnt be the same without it :D For me the virtual fest has worked out well so far - everything has been straightforward.. buying pass and viewing ... and Ive personally not experien...

Re: The Columnist

A dark twisted black comedy - nothing I didnt like in that. Nicely done, engaging and with a very strong lead performance. One I'll seek out and watch again. :D

Watched everything so far on a Chrome browser on PC with Virgin fibre - crystal clear pic, no buffering, no issues so far - hoping it stays that way! :)

Re: HOW TO WATCH

Must say its been a pretty smooth experience so far. Bought my pass, selected all the movies I wanted, picked the short film showcases last so I seem to have avoided the problems others have reported. Paid for Sky Sharks on top of that (Some may hate this but it hit all my buttons so I'm happy :D .....

Re: 2019 Ticket info.

Congrats to all those who secured their tickets for this years 20th Anniversary festival - hope you all have a fantastic time as I’ve done in the past 14 years I’ve attended. 👍 Having a break from it all this year and having my own private Genre Fest at home with a few mates! :D Booze, Food, wall to...

Re: From the beginning

Attending since 2003 - only missed one which was 2016 and that was purely because I couldn't face a bank holiday weekend in Shepherds Bush. Stumbled upon Frightfest in 2003 as I was passing Prince Charles Cinema and thought it looked like a decent way of spending August B hol weekend. Had full pass ...

Re: Chuck Steel: Night of the Trampires

Brilliant fun. Plus, the time and effort put into the film is just madness to comprehend. Sure it was rather over the top, but it did what I had been looking forward to it doing, and I had a great time watching it. Totally agree - it’s humour (over the top, non PC, juvenile etc etc) was completely ...

Re: Frightfest: Beneath the Dark Heart of Cinema

Personally Tulpa was one of my all time absolute favourites ... for admittedly all the wrong comedic reasons. I bought the DVD and disappointingly it had been recut ... can’t POSSIBLY think why .... Zampaglione learned a huge lesson that year - don’t bloody rush and try to cram your edit into a coup...

Re: Frightfest: Beneath the Dark Heart of Cinema

For those of us who didn't see the doc, dare we ask what was going on in 2012? Looking back at the line-up there were some good films on that year, so presumably it was more of a behind the scenes kind of thing... I think the gist of it was, the festival was getting bigger and bigger, and their rol...
