The Weinsteins remaking "American Werewolf" ...

Angy of Mayfair here!!! Just read this disturbing news over on Bloody Disgusting... http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/news/21179 Seems they're looking to the writer of Jim Carrey's 'The Number 23' to update the story. While I'm looking forward to Piranha 3D and I Spit on your Grave this month, I'm go...

Re: Is PIG HUNT any good?

I'm in the Pro-Pig Hunt camp. When I first saw it at the Allnighter, I thought it was alright but found it took too long for the action to kick in. However, a later viewing on DVD when I wasn't feeling half dead, I thoroughly enjoyed it. It didn't seem to take half as long to get going and I actuall...

Yep, good stuff in there! Most excited about; Dead Cert Video Nasties F Hatchet II The Pack Fan Boys and, of course, Tobe Hooper! Not sure about most of the other stuff - but I'm sure there's lots more good stuff that I'll discover in there! Hope you get lots of the Dead Cert cast - Fairbrass rocks!...

Re: films we just saw

Thanks for that Kimblebee :)

Should be a fun night. It looks like Dee and Jay will be enjoying it on Saturday night at the Fantastic Films Festival in Bradford. It seems to be playing EVERYWHERE at one time or another.

I'm now fully prepared for the avian onslaught ....

Re: films we just saw

[quote="rawshark"]Recent film viewing over the Bank Holiday weekend; Birdemic - brilliant, hilarious - loved every minute. Really MUST be seen on the big screen with a load of like-minded bad film enthusiasts, or at the very least at home with many friends, beer and coathangers! Loved the ...

Re: BIRDEMIC!!

Yay! Looking forward to this on Friday night. Nottingham's Broadway are showing it as part of a horror double-bill with Plague Town - apparently with both directors in attendance as well as a surprise guest. If I were in charge I think I'd have some mutant seagulls on wires to dangle over the audien...

Re: films we just saw

Sorry, forgot to mention that we watched Valhalla Rising last night. I'm still not really sure what I made of it. It's really well photographed and they did quite a lot with an obviously limited budget. Mads looks really badass as 'One-Eye', with some of the best make-up I've seen in a long time. I ...

Re: films we just saw

Haha, Notts Pete - I'm hoping they didn't pick the only convincing accent dialogue bits for the trailer to lure us in, only to have Russell being Irish throughout the rest of the film - please tell me it isn't so? :-) I'm a bit ashamed to say, I haven't actually made it along to see Robin Hood yet....

Johannes Roberts' "F" getting UK distribution

Jsut read over on bloody-disgusting that 'F', the latest film from Johannes Roberts is being picked up by Optimum for UK distribution. I'm really happy to hear this - I caught 'F' at the Bloodlines Festival in Leicester the other month and thoroughly enjoyed it. Johannes himself describes it as 'Ass...

Re: DVD WORLD..DO NOT BUY!!

Although I'm not keen on the double-film coverdiscs where you have to 'unlock' the second film (or coverdiscs in general) myself, I wouldn't say that's a reason not to buy the magazine. DVD World have done this a few times in the past but I still enjoy the magazine itself. With the latest issue, Bry...

Re: films we just saw

Watched Cabin Fever 2 with Gav the other night too. I went in with low expectations and was actually pleasantly surprised. I agree that the characters were all a bit weak - but I wasn't keen on anyone in the first one either. I really enjoyed the deputy in this one though, thought it was great the w...

Re: GHOULS ON FILM - a Women in Horror Recognition Month event

Bit late posting this, but just wanted to say thanks to Nia and Co . for putting on this great day last weekend. Never been to the Mixing Bowl before - it was a really nice & unusual venue. The only cinema I know with a 50ft Green Man outside and a water feature with a huge dragon-sculpture look...

Re: Where are you coming from?

Just spoken to Grindy who is well on her way (with Nat) & enjoying the nice snowy scenery! Apparently, she's on the lookout for cows on the road and Marauders - my advice is, if you see anyone with a mohawk and leather trousers just run 'em over and ask questions later:-) Actually, I was so gutt...

Re: Neil Marshalls Centurion

I'm with Kimblebee on this one - I loved Dog Soldiers and The Descent & although it it wasn't QUITE as good as those two, I had a great time with Doomsday & enjoy it more with each viewing !! Marshalll is great at handling military mission/action stuff and I reckon Centruion will be a solid,...
