Re: 2021 films

If we're using the Eventive app on Roku, which version of the app are we meant to be using, Eventive TV or Eventive TV Beta? Not that either of these seemed to work last night. When I first tried to get the app working a couple of days back it didn't want to know. It seems that was the Beta version...

Re: 2021 films

Thanks, sounds like you are pretty much replicating my experience! I didn't feel like getting any night buses home this year so I also saved Crabs! and Coming Home In The Dark for the digital edition (I wish I had stayed to see The Maid, it seemed to get a favourable response). I am also finding th...

Re: 2021 films

I did quite well this year with two 9/10's and seven 8/10's (with possibly Woodlands Dark and Days Bewitched to add to that if/when I watch it this Saturday, which would make it a proper top ten)... The Sadness King Knight Broadcast Signal Intrusion Offseason The Maid Evie No Man of God Ultrasound T...

Re: 2021 films

Was episode 2 of The Little Broomstick Rider ever played? I'm sure it skipped from 1 to 3. I often fall asleep during films but I don't think I've ever fallen asleep before one... I missed one episode, either 2 or 3. Turns out the one I missed played before the late night film on either Thursday or...

Re: FrightFest 2021

I've just got the digital festival update and I'd quite like to catch up with some of the films I'll miss during the week, but I'm not sure how to check whether my TV will work with it - I have one basic TV with a fire stick plus a Samsung Smart TV (which I'd prefer to watch on as it's newish and b...

Re: FrightFest 2021

Yeah, makes sense if there's a bunch of you. I'm on my tod this year though so it's less economical. I'm unfortunately looking at having to skip the last film of the night on Thu/Fri/Sat atm. Sadly, TfL also canned the night tube cos of COVID-related staff shortages and don't look like re-instating...

Re: FrightFest 2021

Worth noting that congestion charging is in effect 24/7 currently though: https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/driving/congestion-charge. It was brought in as a temporary measure during lockdown, but looks like it's here to stay - afaik Khan hasn't said anything about reverting to Mon-Fri 7-6. I used to drive ...

Re: FrightFest 2021

Just wondering if there's any chance of a car parking discount again this year Ian? I'll be driving up from Twickenham to the Chinatown Q-Parks as per usual for the festival and see the prices have jumped up a bit since last time (as has the congestion charge which is now every day rather than just...

Re: FrightFest 2021

It wouldn't be Frightfest without the first jump-scare being courtesy of the booking process :) Not bad at all this year, though the registration process against the clock might be an event at the Olympics soon... See you all in August! Yeah. Luckily I registered before passes went on sale but even...

Re: FrightFest 2021

Well, buying that ticket was remarkably easy, by far the easiest it's ever been! I guess demand's not as great as usual. Not sure if I'll actually attend or not but I am keeping my options open... That's why I bought five seats. I'm telling everyone it's because there's five of us going but it's re...

Re: FrightFest 2021

Right, that's me all registered on the site to buy weekend passes. As I'm buying for 5 people does anyone know if will I be able to get all of the passes without the other four people having to register (as in previous years) or do they all have to have an account as well to link into?

Re: Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark

I enjoyed this although didn't feel the spooky tales were really strong enough to warrant the 15 rating awarded by the BBFC. I suggested as much to my group afterwards and said I thought a 12A rating would be more in line with the target audience but was met with a "no Eddie, 15 is about right&...

Re: Come to Daddy

A slow burn start that quickly picked up once dad started throwing a load of 'c' words in Elijah Wood's direction. Although it was also around this point that I guessed what the first twist was going to be. Overall though it was an entertaining way to start the festival with plenty of laughs (at som...

Re: Crawl

I just have to remember next time I'm trapped by an alligator in my bathroom to get it into the shower then slide the glass door shut. An hour or two cooling off like that will teach the pesky reptile a sobering lesson before I slide the door (or what's left of it) back open and allow it to slink of...
