Re: The Entity

i went to see that knowing that it can't be good, (but i enjoy horror from unusual places) so i had my expectations low, but this was just annoyingly bad and boring. before i saw The Shelter i thought it would be hard to beat this one the the title of the worst movie of the weekend.

Re: III

i think they said 50k. visually arresting, but story wise there's not much to go on about. it had that Tarkowsky-esque long takes where nothing really happens, but supposedly signifies deeper meanings. i thought dialogue was really bad and acting horrible, but it is really impressive debut. i'd love...

Re: Demonic

run of the mill is right. it has all the markings of the blumhouse productions, so sitting down one knows exactly what to expect. meh... not to mention early twenties characters trying to channel some charisma and authority on any given topic - "oh yes, we are investigators, we know our stuff a...

Re: Shut In

really good! it could have gone so wrong - home invasion with a twist. but strong acting and plot that doesn't go over the top keep everything at bay. suspenseful, unpredictable and satisfying. liked the ending.

and because of Rory Culkin put a interesting spin on the Home Alone franchise ;)

Re: Food Feedback

sadly with each FrightFest there is fewer and fewer veg*an places in London (not that those two are related) - gone are vegan all you can eat for #6, some burger places and such, but still few spots left have a look here: http://www.veganlondon.co.uk/where-to-eat-london.html and Happy Cow list place...

Re: Goodie Bags

i only liked the romero bag, design of the others (fanboys, kill list etc.) is just awful.

personally, i wouldn't mind if there was no bags at all.

Re: Bottom 5

it's so easy to be a hater, but this year I felt that if FF is any measurement of the state of horror then we're in really sorry moment indeed. My list looks something like that 5. The Holding - nothing original here, by the numbers, predictable, pointless... 4. Urban Explorers - srsly, another movi...

Re: BEST Discovery film

i've seen only two in DiscoS, both were really good n enjoyable, my vote goes to the Rabies, but My sucky Teen Romance was also a hit.

Re: The Wicker Tree

i didn't have big expectations of this one, but i was surprised just HOW bad it actually was. the script felt like was written by some teenager, characters were utterly despicable (on both sides), plot was predictable (yeah, i know, it follows the steps of Wicker Man, but hey, how about some suspens...

Re: Urban Explorers

if you think this one was bad (which it was, of course) then you should watch Ukrainian "Shtolnya", for a movie set in underground bunker with annoying characters and hole-ridden plot.

and srsly, german torture porn...

Re: The Holding

didn't think much of it. rather predictable and by the numbers, but decently acted, overall watchable, nothing more.

Re: Rabies

one of my favorites over the weekend.

i don't get why was it pitched as a slasher, as it has more to do with say Sympathy For Mr. Vengeance with Coen Bros overtones. but I really liked it.

have to agree, that directors were absolute spot on at Q&A.

looks more like a material for a short than a feature length. how many "vs." movies can one take?

Re: Sennentuntschi

surprise highlight of this year's FF. I thought the beginning was really uninteresting and feeling like a tv-movie, but as the plot developed I found myself highly enjoying this one.

and one thing - first genre picture from Switzerland and one already has a dp scene - that's sick and wicked.

Re: Panic Button

Whats wrong with looking at 'mondo' clips on the internet.. i thought that was common? it was relevant to later plot development. i thought it was really lame effort. all knowing villain felt too much like Saw (i mean, he even knew how much alcohol one of the characters was drinking, not to mention...
