Re: The Duke Mitchell Party 2018

I found it a bit toe curling to be honest, a love in for the FF "in" crowd. Didn't find it funny or entertaining in the slightest and left after 45 minutes, one to avoid for me next year.

Re: BRING BACK THE Q & As

Really didn't like the new format, I like the option of being able to stay for the Q&A or being able to leave....I think the "actors might get upset if loads of yer walk out" isn't really a valid argument, the festival has been operating that way since it started, and other fests do th...

Re: Strong Year?

Pretty middling year for me, no absolutely amazing films, and a lot of filler, especially on the main screen. There was so much generic and bland stuff this year, that'll go straight to DVD and end up been shown repeatedly on the Horror Channel and/or thrown in the goodie bag in future years..... Th...

Re: Luciferina

I'm thinking of the effect. I saw grown critics spitting their teeth out after this one, in their cliques in the corridors outside ... It was brilliant. That's the effect that horror should have on all of us! I thought Hidden In The Woods was one of the most tedious and worst films I've ever seen, ...

Re: Book of Monsters

Absolutely loved this, thought I'd try it out cos I didn't fancy Ravers in the main screen and it turned out to be one of my favourites of the fest. I'd seen the trailer and it looked a bit cheap and I wasn't expecting much, but this was great fun, hilarious and a great old school 80s vibe to it, wo...

A FRIGHTFEST screening hasn't been this much fun since HIDDEN IN THE WOODS
I've been to funerals that were more fun than the screening of Hidden In Woods, I'd assumed that turd had been forgotten without trace.

Re: What happen to the hygiene guy?

I didn't witness the incident, but I heard about it through several people, and I'm appalled. You can say "some people have to be told", but this could have obvious been someone with a medical problem or someone with bad smell who wasn't aware of there own BO. If this is a problem, the per...

Re: Top Five FF17 Films

Yeah just best one is too limiting. Top 5, order may change, but not much: 1. Veronica 2. Fashionista 3. Better Watch Out 4. Bad Match 5. Lowlife Also mentions to Boots On The Ground, 68 Kill and The Bar I'll also do a bottom 5: 1. Dhogs (utterly hated this - disjointed, boring and really patronisin...

Re: Quality of films this year

I think 2014 was the last time we had a very strong line up, and last year and this year have been a bit weak compared to 2014. For me the problem is the main screen, the Discovery screen's have been going up in quality in the last few years, to the point where many people are saying their favourite...

Re: The Windmill Massacre

Surprised so many seemed to like this, I found it dull, generic and forgettable.

The kind of film that will be in the FF goody bag next year or the £1 bin in Asda.

Re: Attack of the Lederhosen Zombies

Really liked this film, great fun! The title suggested something stupid and low budget, but it was well made, funny and very enjoyable.

A much better zomcom that the rather naff Ibiza Undead that I saw the day before.
