Goddess Of Love

The screening was pretty empty for this one. Was wondering what people thought as I personally wasn't a massive fan of the film - it had it's moments and plus' but generally it wasn't the sleeper hit I had crossed my fingers for. However, I spoke to two people that also attended the screening and th...

Howl

Thought I would create a thread for this one, as I was surprised it wasn't being discussed already. Packed in the splice screen. Really enjoyed this, very Dog Soldiers esque. Did have it's problems - The ending (no spoilers) felt a bit rushed, tacked on and abrupt. There were maybe too many moments ...

Re: Sleepy Queue 2014 Discussion (Split from Q&A Thread)

Ditch the Sleepy Queue, ditch the phoneline booking, ditch the online booking.

This year the tickets will be given in a 'Cheap Thrills' style scenario. What would you do for your Frightfest ticket?? ahahahahahahahahahahaha (and so fourth)

Re: American Mary

Great film but I felt it tailed massively at the end, which I'm trying not to let blight my opinion of a film I enjoyed a lot. Agreed. I was thoroughly enjoying it, but with about half an hour to go it seemed to hit a brick wall and collapse into a series of disjointed scenes which seemed barely co...

Re: Fright Fest 2012 Rumour Mill

This Tulpa rumour.... I'm pretty sure at the end of the film they all came on stage, no questions being asked to them, but the director came on and introduced each of the actors including his wife!!! or was I just drunk?! Hey GeorgeCaplin! You were not drunk my good old matey- they were definitely ...

Re: "I found it very unconvincing, will there be a re-cut?"

this is the only time there's been any tension between audience member and director, since 2008 when that guy decided to put the director of Martyrs on the spot with his "Was that supposed to be an important film or just gory?" question. The only other tense Q&A I can think of was after Smash Cut a...

Re: Fright Fest 2012 Rumour Mill

I heard a rumour that The Twins who directed American Mary once went to Ireland, both used the same toilet, which turned out to have been enchanted by an evil wizard. Once they flushed the waste evolved to create the monstrosity that is 'Jedward'. Which gives the fable and common knowledge that why ...

Re: 2011 FILM4 FRIGHTFEST ALLNIGHTER - OVERALL THOUGHTS

Great Venue, Loved the inclusion of guests. I'd say the films, to be honest weren't great, None above 3 stars, maybe, Livid that was good, and the best of the night. HC2 average but it was a great bonus to have the cast, old and new. Bad Meat was poor but a fun enough film to kick start the night wi...

Re: Thanks from the Douche Bros.

Thanks Douche Bros. I never came up to say hello during the festival, sorry about that I am sh*t at small talk and only generally have the confidence after a few beers, which is never really a good thing! You were mentioning about that us brits were unlucky as we never had the drive-in years (which ...

Re: Bedevilled

Was a great film with a cool blend of drama, horror, and humour. Though I didn't like the main character much as not only does it take the death of a little girl but also the death of the best mate to do the morally right thing.

Re: Appluading Death Scenes

I think Bedevilled was supposed to be fun, at times - the deaths of the "aunties" were definitely laced with black humour, as was the Bean Paste Incident. Having said that, there was nothing at all funny about the spousal abuse scenes or the death of the little girl. Korean movies very often have t...

Re: Red White % Blue

I forgot about the little kid she kept visiting. Yeah what was all that about? Have to agree it was a very slow burn, but I felt it delivered the goods. The scene with the wife and child taped to the seat was intense! Particularly after stabbing the little girl - couldn't believe that! Overall my f...
