Re: Film predictions
I'll use those too... The film that most people will be raving about by the end of the festival? Dark Tourist The GUILTY PLEASURE film of the festival? Curse of Chucky / Stalled The film that most people will be grumbling about by the end of the festival? R.I.P.D, / Hammer of the Gods The film most ...

Re: Discovery Film Recommendations
So many I want to see but it'll be down to clashes and whether I'm up early enough. Top 5. Stalled- zombies in a toilet... Cool. Rewind This- feeling all dory eyed about my misspent youth and FF do a nice line in docs. Wither- Evil Dead anyone? For Elisa- tbh looks pretty spooky. And I'm a sucker fo...

Re: Missing In Action
To be honest, i don't think Insidious 2 was overlooked. It comes out 2/3 weeks after frightfest so it wouldn't have been much of a wait. Infact, if you look at it- R.I.P.D comes out not long after frightfest, YOU'RE NEXT comes out THAT weekend, WITHER, NO ONE LIVES and HANSEL AND GRETAL are out on ...

Re: Missing In Action
Insidious 2. Without a doubt. Especially in light of The Conjuring I can't understand it's exclusion unless the distributors refused. Yes it's released in a few weeks but You're Next is released the next day! ( not an issue for me, it sounds like it could be a highlight of the fest and I'd sooner wa...

Re: Top 5 films
Always difficult but my top films were; 1. Sinister. Seriously. Made. Me. Jump. ( I always squeal like a pig in at least one place at FF. This was my 2012 film) 2. Maniac. Huge surprise. Not a great fan of the original, but this was incredibly well crafted while shockingly brutal. 3. Chained. Facsin...

Re: [REC]3 Genesis
I loved this. Funny and entertaining. A perfect fit for a FrightFest.
Can see why fans of 1 and 2 may not like the direction but then some people didn't like Evil Dead 2 or Army of Darkness because it wasn't Evil Dead.
In fact I'm going to buy this as I've just made myself want to watch it again.

Re: Bottom 5 Films
Under The Bed. Just dross. Confusing, with a clearly uninterested cast and crew who waltzed through the thing. Possibly the most boring film I watched this year... Although then there was... After. After which I literally sat wondering if there is any way I could petition the Gods for an IOU for the...

Re: "I found it very unconvincing, will there be a re-cut?"
did anyone catch the name on the old guys badge?
I couldn't believe it, there he was standing at the back after his question of doom, wearing his homemade name badge, Dylan Thomas.
And I thought he was dead! hock:

Re: Stitches
A low calorie, late night slice of Noble. I agree that he seemed restricted by both character and script ( to be honest prior to his resurrection Stitches was such a broad strokes 'complete bastard' that I was concerned this could have gone all 'Lesbian Vampire' on our ass.) Thankfully the time hono...
Re: After
Well made but ultimately a very lame movie that everyone I spoke to ( who didn't sleep through it) thought one of the lowlights of the weekend. Not quite a fantasy movie, not quite a horror movie, not very good. American movie of the week from the mid Eighties vibe.
Poor.
Poor.
Re: Chained
One of the surprises of the festival for me. Came very close to bailing before hand and going for the Discovery screen. So glad I didn't. Parallels with Henry will always follow serial killer movies but I found this equally fascinating and strangely compelling. Definitely in my top 5/6 of this years...

Re: Outpost: Black Sun
This was for me an example of a film that either shouldn't have made the cut, or at best been on one of the smaller screens. Outpost 2 was just a tired idea, with tired execution, that made me feel tired watching it. Generally poor effects ( the lightning effect so synonymous with FX of the 80's) di...

Re: VIDEO NASTIES DOCUMENTARY / DISCUSSION
Bravo! This was so nearly my highpoint of the fest. (just pipped by THE LOVED ONES) Martin was an instant hit with the audience that clearly felt great affection for the little man who stood up to be counted when so few others did. He deserved all the cheers and applause. I agree with other posters,...

Re: YOUR FRIGHTFEST TOP FIVE FILMS 2010.
Ooh, this is surprisingly difficult. 1. THE LOVED ONES 2. VIDEO NASTIES 3. RED WHITE & BLUE 4. PRIMAL 5. SHORT FILM SHOWCASE BUT, would also add HATCHET 2, THE DEAD, RED HILL, BURIED, and I SPIT as very honourable mentions. Also, would add DIARY OF ANNE FRANKENSTEIN as a definate highpoint (and ...
