Frightfest brochure

Hey, I'm just wondering if anyone knows if the 2013 brochure is still available on the website anywhere (can't find it) - or if someone might have it saved on their computer or in an old email I'd really appreciate it if you could forward it to me at greg@petebox.com

Thanks!

Re: Was FF 13 any worse or better than other years?

Oddly FF13 was like a festival of two halves, the first half stunk REALLY BAD!! The second half was actually quite good. I for one am all for shortening Frightfest (maybe 1 less film on each of the long days?) Or reducing it back down to 1 screen so only the best is played. It's just a matter of fac...

Re: [REC]3 Genesis

2/10 This was really, really awful! I'm all for subverting genres and taking sequels in new directions, but it seemed like the film makers had never seen the original and they really would have benefitted from learning a few lessons from it. Eg. no comedy, claustrophobic atmosphere..... the reason i...

Re: Argento Film

Any news on this? I do hope it's not Dracula 3D as, given the quality of the trailer, it might be another Giallo style laughfest - which could be awkward if Dario watches it with us!?!

Re: Films for FrightFest The 13th 2012

Am wondering if Berberian Sound Studio is going to be in the line-up. It's getting amazing reviews & is released on August 31st... so it's a possibility!?!

Re: films we just saw

Devil - quite enjoyed this one, simple silly popcorn movie of which there haven't been many lately.
The Hole - This movie was really great, had a nice 80's vibe to it, Dante doing what he does best. Surprisingly scary esp. for a 'family' movie - not sure I could have handled it as a young child.

Re: How did you find the line-up overall..?

I feel the same after last year... the film selection was just not good enough. I don't think it's unreasonable to say that there just aren't enough really good horror films available to preview/premiere over 5 days in two screens in 1 weekend. I think the festival needs to retract a little and go b...

I too thought this film was hugely overrated, it was dull, with another over-explanatory ending.... BORING. The acting was pretty great though, except for the 'Carry On' rent boy!

The BIG difference between this film and Time Crimes is that this is NOT a time travel story, it is a story of punishment. There is only 1 real Jess, she is driving and dies in the crash, she then makes a deal with death and because she does not return to him she is forced to play out the action whi...

I really enjoyed this one, the visuals were pretty stunning throughout. For me this has been the most suspenseful, and the best movie so far. I do think the ending was well and truly 'over-egged', but an interesting concept which perhaps just needs a bit of cutting.

Pointless, uninspired waste of money... I think that pretty much sums it up.

I think at the point after the crash there is only 1 Melissa George, the one who's just beaten her son and crashed the car. That is the one part of the film that is 'real', as she has yet to make her deal with 'death'.
