Re: Vue vs. Empire

Hmm I think the problem is that demand to attend generally seems to be rising each year as the Fest gets more publicity and gets more popular so that makes it unlikely that things will get smaller in future years as much as many people would say that they preferred the feel of a smaller set up. That...

Re: BEST FILM of 2014

Sometimes I like to switch off my brain and enjoy purely entertaining popcorn films - so thats why I went 1 Dead Snow, 2 Open Windows and 3 Stage Fright :green:

The Dread Central review is for me a much better written and far more balanced review than the real love-struck gush-fest review that (briefly it seems) that appeared on twitch (well the text I saw on Aint It Cool anyway). Even though I'm no fan of the movie and dont necessarily agree with all the p...

Twitchfilm review of Heartless

Does anyone know what happened to the gushingly positive review twitchfilm had on their website about Heartless? Someone had posted the text to the Aint It Cool site but when I searched twitchfim I couldnt find it.

Bit of a debate going on at Aint it Cool too it seems :)

I must admit that I'm finding the discussions about the film extremely interesting. I've posted before that my opinion is not good. However, it seems an awful lot of people are focusing on the "He was joking when he said new genre of horror and people only disliked it because of that". Pa...

Hey Tommy Boy, I think I just realised what the message is. It's War is stupid And people are stupid And love means nothing In some strange quarters War is stupid And people are stupid And I heard them banging On hearts and fingers :D Trying to remember whether the soldier screamed Do ya really wan...

Re: heartless

Also like to say i thought the little girl was really good in the film, No one seemed to be talking to her about the film so we went up and had a chat to her. Very smart sweet girl.We got her autograph which pleased her mum loads(i think the frightfesters were neglecting her quite frankly.) For me ...

Ridley has not invented a new genre of horror but has with that comment shown his contempt for horror as a genre. I'm assuming that he based his (obviously) encyclopedic knowledge of the current state of the genre on the adverts he sees for films such as Final Destination 3 on the TV. He appears to...

Hmmmm not really horror and a pretty predictable plot but the performances lifted the whole thing. Didnt love it, didnt hate it but quite liked it.

A by-the-numbers mainstream flick. Yet another of those "evil kid" movies but I found myself enjoying it. The kid was suitably creepy and I did so like the scene where she freaked out the beardy-boy psychologist.

A really good movie - the way the tension was built up, the whole 80's look and feel. Brilliant.

I didnt see this one and on talking to a few people was very glad I took the opportunity to have a lie-in instead. The bunch of girls in their knickers on the stairs as I came into Empire were I assume said Zombie Women?
