Re: All Nighter News
I've spoken to Ian, who isn't actually in the country at the mo, and he's absolutely livid. He's left a voicemail on the Vue event manager's phone and is going to let me know as soon as he hears back. they aren't selling any tickets at all so far. I'll post on here when I hear back from him.

Re: Bad Behaviour
I'd like to apologise on the behalf of my friend for that, it was pissing me off as well. That was you in front of me? If I'd known I'd have said "hello". Lisa, I've spoken to you twice in the last two years, both times amicably. The thing I don't get is that you seem to enjoy ranting abo...

Re: The Rough Guide to FrightFest
With all due respect, it seems the opinions on the festival are becoming like a collection of the same rants that occur every year. People aren't nice enough to newbies - check. It's all racial - check. Drunk people are annoying - check. People got in the way during freebie handouts - check. Much as...

Re: Adam Green and Downloads
Ed, if you've bought the cut copy, then someone has been paid for that. The uncut version you download will either be a screener, which you have no right to view, or a foreign upload which you haven't paid for. If you have to see the uncut version, then you have to buy an unrated R1. This is getting...

Re: Adam Green and Downloads
I think downloading is basically an overegged sense of entitlement that means people can't understand the concept of having to wait for things. I'm totally agree that censorship is effectively dead in the modern age, as people can steal the uncut versions of films at will. That doesn't make it right...

Re: Adam Green and Downloads
I'm only using Serbian as the most recent high profile example, but the same hold true for so many other indy releases. 7 Days, Dogtooth, REC 2 and Paranormal Activity were all being openly discussed on other forums I frequent before I'd even seen them on the Festival circuit (REC 2 being the worst ...

Re: Adam Green and Downloads
I don't think importing (for private use) is in any way comparable with downloading films. Regardless of which distributor produced the version of the disc you have bought, someone has been paid for releasing that film. However, if you import 200 copies and then sell them in the UK, you're being an ...

Re: Where are you sitting?
The sad thing about all this is that it's subjective - obviously some people have gone overboard and upset a few people, but then some of the people active on the forum (not Orlovsky, who I don't know) have done precisely what they are complaining about, albeit with less of the drunken stumbling. De...

Re: Where are you sitting?
Didn't spot the quotation marks in your original post, which was what I believe Pumpkin quoted you on. :) At the end of the day, we're all chums (or at least stuck together for a few days a year!) so it's water under the bridge, but I don't see Bill ending up in that state again. Pete on the other h...

Re: Films everyone loves... except you!
I liked the F13 remake even less than the original Kimblebee, don't worry. :) I think my issue with that series is that they had such an iconic character to play with, and never managed to put him in a genuinely good film. Part 6 and Part 4 were entertaining stuff, but there was never an equivalent ...
