Re: Halloween

Thanks for a fun day at the PCC. Much better line up than last year. Every film had its merits and its flaws but I genuinely enjoyed all of them. I thought Bed of the Dead would be awful, but it was actually very entertaining; Don't Hang Up was a great premise and well made; Cold Moon was my film of...

Re: Vue West 12 vs Vue West End

Pros: We have the whole cinema, much more of a festival / community feel All screens I've been in are a good size including disco screens Easier to move between screens as they are all on one floor Not battling with hordes of tourists for places to eat or drink between films Big pub in the same bui...

Re: Beyond the Gates

Was the last film of my two days at Frightfest this year and a good one to end on.
Fun, retro, good characters with creepy turns from Barbara C and the curiosity store owner in supporting roles.
Deliberatly derivative but with enough originality to make it interesting.

I hope you're having a blast. I'm almost certain you are. And for many more years to come.

Re: The Chamber

I liked it.
Great sense of claustrophobia, awesome score, good dynamic between all the characters. The ending worked really well for me and was set up very nicely.
For a low budget movie, it punched above its weight.

Re: The Rezort

Once the zombie action starts most z movies are the same. However, the concept was GREAT and very well executed. The only puzzling thing is why hasn't it been done before? Dougray Scott - at his most enigmatic, rugged and fearless - lifted it right up! A fun start to Saturday morning that set the to...

Re: The Master Cleanse

Had me saying 'ahhhhhh' instead of 'ugghhhhh'.
Good 'clean' fun.
Anyone who's dabbled in the mind-body-spirit/self-help movement and still has a sense of humour will thoroughly enjoy this one. A perfect allegory.

Re: Mercy

This one didn't work for me unfortunately.
There was a good family dynamic in the set up which didn't pay off, which was a shame.
Was left asking why, but not it a good way.

A really good concept - merged two horror tropes very well.
Enjoyable good fun.

Re: Pet

Agree with all the positive comments above.
The two leads were perfectly cast and had great chemistry.
Nice to see nobody's posted spoilers. If you missed it, go see it and make sure you do avoid spoilers

Re: Abbatoir

The bad guy let it down as his motivations weren't clear enough. I liked the lead characters' 50's retro look at the beginning, even though there didn't seem to be a good reason for it apart from connecting it with 50's film noir. I wish I'd counted the costume changes - the outfits were awesome. Lo...

Re: FrightFest has a new home for 2016

I'm all for the entire cinema takeover and on site Wetherspoons! Alas the distance means I'm unlikely to do the full weekend this year. As lame as it sounds, two night buses taking over an hour and a half on a bank holiday weekend is a bit daunting for a lone female. That said, if I could afford ac...

Re: Discovery screen tickets

We are not using allocated seating for Discovery Screen films. We have given this a great deal of thought. Because tickets can only be booked one pass at a time, it would have been virtually impossible to get seats together. So what we thought was by making the seating unallocated, seating arrangem...

I got all the ones i wanted by 9.05am so I am a very happy shopper now! Has made up for my bad luck in not being able to get a festival pass in the same screen as my friends.

NOW, I am finally excited about FF.

Good luck to everyone else, hope you've got/getting the tix you want

Re: Discovery screen tickets

Everyone who has an eligible ticket will get an email next week, most likely on Saturday with all the instructions that you need to get your discovery screen tickets. Relax, it is all in hand. We are fine tuning the ticketing system at the moment to make sure it all works smoothly. Will the details...
