Re: The Horror Movie Genre is Dead!!

Crappy, pointless remakes aside, I don't see Horror (in all it's guises) being shallow and shite this decade at all.
British and Euro horror has really boomed this decade.

You want 'dead horror genre'...wallow in 90% of the output in the 90's.

"The Blind Side". the blindside. the blind side. :? Sandra Bullocks :? "Not Quite Hollywood" - Documentary on Aussie exploitation films. Pretty damn good, would like to see the hour of footage removed though. Some choice clips of those movies I have seen and those I now want to s...

Re: films we just saw

I missed this garbage it seems; Islamism is not some sort of united movement.... I know a few women's rights activists, authors, directors and cartoonists that would disagree. And they'd be wrong, too. LMAO! Would they!? You know fucking better than them do you? Arrogant prick. Appeasement. Lovely t...

"The Wild Man of Navidad" This was going to be the subject of a proper, screen caps and all, review. Now I've seen this junk though it ain't worth it. Here be spoilers....as quite frankly (despite what some review sites who should know better may try to tell you after watching their freeb...

Re: films we just saw

"Strange Days" Sits with "The Hurt Locker" as Bigelow's best film. As it's not hampered by a dreadfully weak and generally crap ending like "Near Dark" or hampered by just being total crap full stop like "Point Break". Seriously undervalued and underrated at ...

Re: films we just saw

"Daddy's Girl" (2006) - aka "Cravings" British (indeed a rare Welsh one) 'Horror' film about a troubled psychiatrist looking into the case of a teenage girl who has cut herself and drank her own blood. Very slow burning and more like a drama/thriller for the first hour this is w...

Re: what dvds are we buying?

"The Sentinel" - Michael Winner's critically shredded then, basically forgotten now, Satanic, supernatural horror film with lots of sleaze (but of course...It IS Michael Winner after all, dear!).

Glad to see this old, VHS fave, trash fest has got a pretty damn good DVD release.

Re: films we just saw

"Ice Pirates" used to be an old VHS fave. Loved the bit when they all age suddenly. "Brooklyn Rules" One of the many "Sopranos" writers penned this rather enjoyable little Mob drama starring Alec Baldwin, Scott Caan and a surprisingly good Freddie Prinze jr. Nothing rem...

Re: films we just saw

"The Mummy" (1959) A huge improvement over the original 'Universal' snooze-fest (remove the first - and only- Mummy scene and Karloff in general and you have empty air) 'Hammers' version of the tale actually owes more to Universal's sequels in the fact that you actually have a Mummy rampa...
