Re: The Dead
Hi, It may be a medical fact but the film also has a narrative and inner logic to serve that the audience has to understand. The film had clearly established that the dead are everywhere even when you least expect it so to light a fire, not extinguish the fire and fall asleep right after a big scene...

Re: Mobile Phones why cant people do with out them?
Hey Brad1000, It's funny how you accuse me of whining and should get a grip about mobile phones on a thread about mobile phones being distracting, whilst in another thread I was looking at you moan about people laughing during Argento's last movie! So what is it; tolerance of distractions or toleran...

Quote: [quote="brad1000"]jesus mate its just a light...calm down.....are you really that easily distracted???? or just looking for a chance to wine.....?? I admit I like to totally focus on a film and hate distractions but I know I'm not alone in this feelings, going to the cinema is a ver...
Re: Monsters
This strange hype that has been going about about how hard it was to make two of the films shown at Frightfest - Monsters and The Dead was beginning to annoy me after a while, whilst I respected the films some of the blurb going on was just hype or attention grabbing. Lots of people face adversity i...

Re: Mobile Phones why cant people do with out them?
I agree, I f**king hate mobile phones in cinemas!!! I went to the theatre the day before and they have a special anouncement before the play starts telling people to turn their phones off. If a phone rings or beeps actors sometimes scold the offenders. I guess in modern cinemas none of the young sta...
Re: The Dead
Ditto on the radio scene, I did hear a burst of laughter go up in the cinema during that moment. It was almost as bad as the radio scene at the end of Zombie Flesh Eaters (but not quite)! It would have been better if they hadn't shown the actual (very cheap looking) American HQ which jolted the view...
Re: Monsters
Quote: the creatures looked menacing but were they a danger or was it the governments & miltary reactions that were putting people more at risk? Yes that's the way I saw it too, the creatures were sort of more like Elephants in Africa in that they are large, can be threatening, do destroy crops ...
The Dead
Funny that the two films I saw at FrightFest were road movies, one being Monsters and the other The Dead, they made for a fun road movie double bill. Anyway, The Dead... Having become thoroughly bored by the mainstream success of the zombie genre I didn’t think I would see another zombie film that I...
Re: Monsters
Thought Monsters was a lovely little film. Like a cross between Lost in Translation, Stalker and Thin Red Line with the occassional (and stress 'occassional') giant octo-aliens. People have made comparisons to District 9 from the trailer but it really is nothing like D9, if anything it is more like ...
