Re: Phoenix?
So is the Wetherspoons staying open late? Some of my mates are still gonna head to the Phoenix otherwise. Cheers. I think I'm right in saying the Phoenix is normally a private members club, but opens its doors in partnership with Frightfest each year. If it's not the official drinking hole of FF thi...
Re: Phoenix?
I am 85% sure the announcement of the move said something about the wetherspoons agreeing to open late. Edit: yes. Ian mentioned being in talks about it on page 3 of the thread announcing the new venue. So is the Wetherspoons staying open late? Some of my mates are still gonna head to the Phoenix ot...

Re: Ticket Sales
Thanks Matt, just disappointing that I've been up since 6am counting the time down to noon and then the tickets just went! I was picking seats to be told they had gone which was confusing and frustrating. Oh well I will have my own frightfest in my living room on that day !! Well as i speculated-th...

Re: Ticket Sales
Well done to those who got tickets but don't forget it seems some others didn't.Is it definitely sold out?-it doesn't seem possible to me.I got mine but if it isn't sold out and there is a glitch somewhere it would be nice if Queenb and the others disappointed could have a little hope?? On another n...
Phoenix?
Hi guys,is the Phoenix bar having any involvement this year as Frightfest itself has a new home?.Just wondering as i've had some brilliant nights there after my fill of the films. If not will the Wetherspoons above the cinema stay open late and will some of the guests/punters be floating around in t...

Re: sleepy queue
I can't seriously believe that a group of like-minded people who queue for hours and hours for a once a year event actually LET people queue jump.Surely someone must have said something like"Fuck off mate-get to the back"?.There are enough of you there to offer support for God's sake.Or is...

Re: Appluading Death Scenes
Nobody deliberately set out to laugh at Giallo , we don't sit there and "force" laughter, if something's ridiculous it makes you laugh, simple as that. It's true that in a crowd a mood develops, so you probably end up laughing a lot more than you would watching it home. But so what, you g...

Re: Appluading Death Scenes
I'd be worried if people take the films so seriously that they *don't* laugh / applaud etc. it's horror, it's supposed to be fun. I laugh at the death scenes in many films, it all depends on the tone of the movie. And yeah, I'd laugh at bad movies too - at least that means you're getting *some* enj...

Re: Film times
The boys have actually announced on the FaceBook page that there will be no film. Actual message is; In the end we have decided not to show one. There are many reasons for this, but it in the end came down to the non -availability of decent copies of the better ones. Dario is still coming and he wi...

Re: Appluading Death Scenes
My take on applauding death scenes-don't-it's embarrassing. As is "ironic"laughing at things like Giallo.Yes it was bad,yes the script was awful but unless you yourself have made a movie shown in a cinema have a bit of respect.I was squirming in my seat at some of the dialogue but never fe...

Re: Film times
Dario is just a fiver, so I guess no movie. I sincerely hope they do show a"classic"film as well as have the interview as promised a few weeks ago as the only Argento i have seen on the big screen is "Giallo"and we all know how that turned out. Can't see the boys being unable to ...
