Re: Films for Frightfest August 2015

... and concentrating on originality ... :D I'm sure we'll see our fare share of over-familiar tropes without having to look too far! Oh absolutely. And I wouldn't have it any other way. Sorry, I didn't mean that original quote to sound naïve or anything, just that it's nice to see less films with ...

Re: Films for Frightfest August 2015

Was glancing through the schedule for the 456th time, and just realised that there's only one sequel ("Contracted - Phase 2") and two remakes/updates/reboots/whatever-the-hell-you-want-to-call-them ("Rabid Dogs" & "Frankenstein"). Total mirror image of mainstream ci...

Re: Films for Frightfest August 2015

Just out of interest, has anybody heard anything about "Curve"? I took a leap of faith and went for that over "Bite". Yeah, I know "Bite" is sold-out and everybody went mental over it, but I've seen a couple of last-minute bad reviews and to be honest I assumed it would...

Just announced that another union is calling off the tube strike. RMT still to comment but this could be good news for those worried about travelling...

I was stuck in a queue on a broken escalator behind Jonathan Ross last year.
One of the more surreal moments in my life ...

Re: Discovery screen tickets

This system worked really well. FYI Bite is full - got one ticket, but by the time I logged on with another pass all of the seats had been taken. Should be a fun screening. I forgot to book up a Future Shock 2000AD seat for one of my party's passes. i can't be bothered to wait for another hour so I...

Re: Discovery screen tickets

Given the "estimated queue waiting time" at the moment, this feels just like a virtual version of the mad rush to get Discovery tickets on the opening day from last year ....

Re: Discovery screen tickets

Right... So my email service died a couple of hours ago, which means I won't be able to see the instructions... Not so bad you might think, as they'll surely appear on here and it seems fairly straightforward. Well, being the utter prat that I am, I hadn't yet printed off my Festival pass or took a...

Re: Films for Frightfest August 2015

Yeah, I'm the same... After several weeks, I'm still poring over the planners and haven't made my mind up... Especially with stuff like Night Fare/Banjo, or Curve/Bite, or Nina Forever/Howl (NB: Monday is a real head-scratcher isn't it?) or Xmas Horror Story/Barbara Crampton! I usually hate looking ...

Re: Tube Strike Planned

As already stated the 24-hour tube start-date has been postponed, and one union (ASLEF) has just stated that their members won't be taking part, so it might not be the total wipe-out that we're all fearing... Details = http://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2015/aug/12/tube-work-to-rule-disrupting-servi...

Re: Tube Strike Planned

Just for further confirmation, here's the BBC news site details as well; http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-33866704 Timing totally sucks on this. I'm lucky enough in that I'll be uptown and staying local, but I really feel for the folks who are travelling in from further afield. Just hope ...

Re: Films for Frightfest August 2015

My personal must-sees as soon as I saw the listings were; The Nightmare The Hallow Bloodsucking Bastards We Are Still Here Dom Brunt's "Bait" (if only because "Before Dawn" was so damn good) Tales from Halloween But looking forward to pretty much everything else on the schedule a...

Yes. Thanks very much. Made the main screen choice much easier and highlighted any early possible film clashes. Good work guys.

Re: FrightFest ticketing 2015

Yeah baby! Got my ticket, and the screen/seats that I wanted! Was a knuckle chewing 50 minute wait, but it was worth it. The "thank-you" screen was a nice touch as well. For info - I used IE and seemed to sail through fairly easily with no real screen-locks. BTW: Do we still get the schman...
