Re: Food
That is genuinely amazing; thank you Ian. You have no idea how much this is necessary after even one day of eating takeaway crap for some people.

Re: Discovery screen 'nepotism'.
Wonderfully put Mal! And CRUEL SUMMER is a great example of a film to go in blind on. What a brutal one.

Re: Discovery screen 'nepotism'.
Definitely the case with the inception of the DISCOVERY Screen[s] back in 2009 were highlighting the more esoteric, lower budget and left of field entries from an increasingly busy market, giving films a chance to play a large and prestigious film festival that may otherwise not have a platform. Now...

Re: FILMMAKER EVENTS
Hi man, Firstly yes there is usually a directors lunch over the course of the festival where attending directors that have films in the festival can mingle in. And there are also numerous afterparties throughtout the entire weekend. But moreover from this, this overiding sensibility of FrightFest is...

Re: Discovery Screen Tickets
I think we can rest assure that you guys scoped out every possible auditorium space in the whole of London and have found the best for all needs. What people need to remember that central London (west end specifically) is such a massive factor in ensuring maximum single film ticket sales (thanks to ...

Re: Films For Glasgow 2017
47 METRES DOWN is genuinely fantastic and has some sensational scares in it. Would be a fun screening. Some more possibilities: WITHIN / Crawlspace from Phil Claydon (Lesbian Vampire Killers & Alone FrightFest alum) CUT LITTLE BUGGERS “Gremlins meets Hot Fuzz set in the English countryside.” SAF...

Films For Glasgow 2017
So here's a real interesting one, and maybe a tad premature, but what films do you want / expect to see at Glasgow FrightFest 2017? Unlike last year where there was a plethora of larger genre titles that had done festival rounds but not made it to the UK, this year's big name crop is a hell of a lot...

Re: Top 10 Films 2016
Another stunning year of films with seemingly more clashes than ever, and lots of gems I've never heard of before. As such, my top 10 is ever rotating, but right now its at: 1. BEYOND THE GATES 2. THE WOODS 3. MY FATHER DIE 4. POPULATION ZERO 5. THE MASTER CLEANSE 6. PET 7. WE ARE THE FLESH 8. LET H...

Re: World Premieres
Another thing worth note, that hasn't really been advertised much, but FRIGHTFEST have a 'First Blood' strand added this year, much like their Retro Strand takeover on Discovery Screen 3 on Sunday. So on Saturday 27th, on Discovery Screen 2, all the films featured are World Premieres of British genr...

Re: World Premieres
World Premieres can oft lead to two lines of thought: Glass half full "wow what an amazing scoop & exclusive opportunity" and glass half empty "is there a reason this hasn't been screened before". And, yes, as many MANY frightfest fans are quick to jump to examples like DEAD ...

Re: Frightfest report needed!
Hi there; would be more than happy to write a wee festival overview if the vacancy is still available.
Examples of my writing can be found here; and I've written pieces for the festival brochure in the past too.

Re: FrightFest 2016 lineup announced
Hi all, I've put together a handy clashfinder page to help people work out their clashes & choose which of the main screens is best for them to fit in with Discovery Screen choices, and pick their absolutely ideal festival. It's fully customizable and allows up to 4 different schedules to be cre...
