Re: My top and bottom 3

I've got to agree with some of the posters on here regarding the quality of films this year. Perhaps it's me getting old but there was nothing this year that really excited me (I certainly wasn't disturbed or horrified at any point). Again, like others have noted, there was nothing truly terrible bu...

Re: Films for Frightfest August 2015

Always worth doing your homework. Noticed that Adam Mason (Dust, 13th Sign, Broken) and Anthony DiBlasi (Dread, The Missionary) have their latest offerings on the Discovery Screens....based on their previous work I'll probably give these a wide birth

Re: FrightFest ticketing 2015

With the news about the medical conference apparently making hotel accommodation difficult this year I don't know what to do. Still not confident to book hotel accommodation for 4 people before getting the tickets.... It may be untested for FF, but the boys have said it's a system capable of handli...

Re: Films for Frightfest August 2015

Fingers crossed they don't show the martyrs remake. The original was one of best things shown at Frightfest. A poor mans remake, which even the organisers have said is inferior and messes up the ending, is only going to taint the original somewhat. If it is on I can skip it but my rather sad ambitio...

Re: FrightFest ticketing 2015

Untested buying system and everybody buying online this year. If I wanted 1 or 2 tickets then I wouldn't be worried but 4 together? I probably will get what I want but, like I said, I'm not confident enough to book 5 nights in a London hotel beforehand. If there are four left together when you get o...

Re: Something odd from last year..

The thing that puzzles me sometimes is how the 4 organisers, who are all so cine literate can choose some of the absolute dreck that's been shown down the years. I get the comedies and the more left field choices because there is an audience for them and yes, part of the attraction of the festival i...

Re: FrightFest ticketing 2015

Yeah, I skipped Hammer Of The Gods as well and you're right, there wasn't much in the way of a quality alternative. I ended up wandering around Covent Garden in the rain. Having since seen the aformentioned film since, I think I made the right decision.

Re: FrightFest ticketing 2015

What are the "strongest films" though? It's all subjective. It's been generally considered that the main screen gets the supposed better films, but the last few years has shown, as you rightly stated, that this is sadly not the case. More often than not, a lot of the main screen films coul...

Re: FrightFest ticketing 2015

Just hope there is a bit more quality this year as there was some absolute garbage last year. I appreciate it's all subjective and every film isn't going to be a masterpiece but still...you'd have been pretty hacked off if you had just rocked up and paid a single ticket price for the likes of Shockw...

Dead Snow 2???? Can we not have some sort of restriction on who is allowed to vote? No one with a mental age of less than 14 for example, otherwise this is what will happen :(

Re: How Film4 FrightFest will work in 2014

Fantastic!!! Managed to get passes for the weekend today. Process was very smooth, the person on the end of the phone very helpfull and everything was done and dusted by 12.10pm. A big thanks to Ian and everybody for sorting this out and apologies also for being a bit, shall we say, angry in my prev...

Re: How Film4 FrightFest will work in 2014

A good will gesture from Vue for the people lucky enough to get tickets will be a fantastic consolation for the people who couldn't and won't be there anyway......sorry...just very bitter at the moment. I agree...it would be an apropriate gesture.
