Re: Boar

I have to admit to being a bit disappointed by this one. I thought Charlie's farm was pretty good and I love creature films but I found this lacking. The boar was like one of those nodding dogs, it's body barely moved. The kills were also quite boring and few and far between. Also what was up with m...

Re: Chuck Steel: Night of the Trampires

I really enjoyed this, exactly what I expected from what I already knew of the short. Impressive animation especially on the action sequences. Awesome big monsters at the end. I found it funny I guess I'm the right kind of stupid for this type of humour. One of my highlights from this year.

Re: Ravers

I didn't really understand the effects of the energy drink. My interpretation was that it made them fixated on doing whatever they'd been into in the first place - so the users craved drugs, the dancers wanted to dance... and they'd go postal on anyone who got in the way of their thing. Yeah, that ...

Re: Ravers

Liked this more than I expected. The fake American accents annoyed me too and I think they would have said pink eye instead of a stye. I liked the second mutation of the ravers and think it should have happened sooner. I didn't really understand the effects of the energy drink. Some went homicidal s...

Re: Summer of 84

Loved this. All the kids were really good. Some very funny dialogue and the tonal change worked and had a great emotional effect. Loved the soundtrack too.

Re: He's Out There

This was okay. I didn't like the fact the camera seemed to be wearing sunglasses. I did like the old carved dolls and the eyeballs and arms stuff. Could of done with a few more kills as well. I could watch this again.

Re: Open 24 Hours

I enjoyed this one and could watch it again. I thought the acting was great. Visually impressive especially on some of the wilder delusions. Shame they couldn't just leave the bad guy dead.

Re: Heretiks

Horrible effects dreadful looking exteriors of castles looked like they were done on clip art. I understand why this has sat around for two years. Now they can ride the wave of Nun movies. It'll probably turn up in Asdas with a title change, something like 'The Nun Redemption".

Re: What Keeps You Alive

I was absolutely loving this one all the way up until the boat chase across the lake. When the guy asks how everything was going she should have just shouted. "She's trying to kill me for the insurance money". What did happen was so dumb that it sort of ruined the film for me. Then add to that the f...

Re: BRING BACK THE Q & As

I missed the Q&A's also. The Leigh Whannel one was really good. All the intros seemed a little pointless as they were all just saying the same thing. " We can't really tell you much because of spoilers". It also really impacted on the breaks. Although the Crystal eyes intro was good because they cou...

Re: Strong Year?

For me, this year crushed last year. I thought it was a pretty strong line up. There was only one movie I really disliked and that was Black site. Other than that I made some really good discovery film choices. It's funny because I thought last year was awful when everyone said it was one of the bes...

Re: Overall Thoughts

This year was okay. The only film that really got me excited was Imitation girl. Up until the final day I was feeling a bit dissapointed I was really only enjoying one or two films each day. Then monday came along and I enjoyed them all. I love Frightfest, I talk to people sat next to me, I occasion...

Re: The End?

Way too long for what it was. I think Stalled did this much better and for a lot less money. The thing that made me laugh the most was his means of escape ended up being one of the first things he did when he first got stuck in the lift. pulling the handrail off the wall. It took him an hour to deci...

Re: Dhogs

I get the message this movie was trying to deliver but feel it could have made it more interesting. Also by showing us an audience watching the samething as us and then later saying Actually no, it's a computer game thats why it's a badly told narrative was just lazy and annoying and reminded me of ...

Re: Psychopaths

This was dissapointing, from the write up and trailer this was one that I was really looking forward to. No real story to tell, with the most interesting parts being the mask guy and the Ashley Bell character. I sort of feel bad for Ashley Bell because she did a great job and it feels like a waste i...
