Re: 2018 Lineup Announced

The line up looks decent. I've got loads of classes to contend with but thats because I find myself taking more of a punt in discovery screens. Tokoloshe, Possum, Bodied, Book of Monsters, Rock Steady Row, One Cut of the Dead, Piercing, St Agatha, The Night Eats The World, Secret Santa and of course...

Re: Goodbye. Doesn't feel like FrightFest anymore.

Oh I don't see much doom and gloom...part of the attraction of frightfest is discovering films I don't know much about or don't get the hype. I'm looking forward to the following: Upgrade Climax Tigers Are Not Afraid (missed this in Glasgow) Summer of 84 Incident in a Ghost Land The Man Who Killed H...

Re: How come horror cinema is still 50 years behind horror literature?

Original movies vs bankable is the debate I'm deducing. A studio is more likely to give money to a movie that can be marketed and promoted far easier than a genuine genre shift or unknown idea. The discovery screens had a few 'different movies' Our Evil was one for example (as used above) that was s...

Re: Personal safety

Indeed I've been here all my life and yes its dangerous but the 80's was pretty bad too.
Good to be vigilant but common sense takes over in most cases

Re: Mindhack

It wasn't that bad, unless it was just the "I'm not interested in where this is clearly going" kind of walkout. It pretty much was that sort of walkout. I didn't like some of the dialogue too and when it moved from him dealing with his stuff to trying to hack the mind with some tech as pa...

Re: Victor Crowley

This was a great frighlfest movie...exactly what was needed...yes it was more of a comedy but Adam Green explained his thinking behind making it what it was. I enjoyed it... some good laughs...good kill scenes and watched with the right crowd. Adam Green knows the frighlfest crowd and it felt like t...

Re: Personal safety

Did any of this advice actually get used or needed?
The only thing to be vigilant of were the religious preachers outside.

I live here and work here...dangers are everywhere...given we are inside a cinema 80% of the time if something did happen outside we'd probably be ok.

Re: 68 Kill

This was a brilliant watch..not really a horror movie aside from some of the kill scenes. Vulgar and in your face and a decent watch with the frighlfest crowd. Didn't really buy into the fact every woman had to be a whore in it but I guess what works for the movie. Enjoyable watch and one of the fes...
