Re: Movies For August 2017 Fest

SKY SHARKS (Marc Fehse)- Nazi zombies on flying sharks. This has been in production for ages, but finally has a US release date for the beginning of September. if its made in time this is surely on since they filmed a sequence at frightfest where we all had to run out pretending sharks were attacki...

Re: Accommodation

i've spent the last 2 years staying with a friend who lived in london. now that he doesn't i won't be coming for the weekend - as above, it costs as much as a holiday and i can't justify that. reckon i'll go to celluoid screams and grimmfest instead, which will cost less combined than bank holiday w...

Re: LFF 2016 Roundup

I came along for Raw since I will miss it at Celluloid Screams, didnt like it much. Found it all too obvious and understood zero of the characters' choices or reactions, right from the outset.

Re: Films for Halloween All-dayer?

PCC are doing 2 of their own horror all nighters so maybe they would rather people doing a special Halloween outing picked one of their efforts instead of opting for the frightfest one...

Re: London Film Festival 2016

got my ticket for Raw at LFF this morning, not doing any of the others that looked interesting though because I live out in Surrey so the added train fare to come in for 1 film at a time is a bit much.

Celluloid Screams

I've always found Celluloid Screams in Sheffield do a great job of not just repeating a chunk of Frightfest (which is more or less what Grimmfest provide the North with), and this year they have put together a really nice lineup again: http://celluloidscreams.co.uk/featurefilms-2/ The Void - i was r...

Re: Quality of films this year

check Celluloid Screams out: http://celluloidscreams.co.uk/featurefilms-2/ i've been along for the odd day in the past and they do really well not crossing over with the FF films, which Grimmfest doesnt do at all. Last year's line-up had The Invitation, Goodnight Mommy, The Witch, They Look Like Peo...

Re: Bad Blood : The Movie

i really liked this one. i went in to avoid the rob zombie flick or realive, whatever it was on in splice then, and only picked it because "were-frog" amused me - i was expecting absolutely nothing and ended up really enjoying it. very well put together for the obviously microbudget (direc...

Re: Best and Worst Films of 2016

For me I kept waiting for Director's Cut to go much darker and it didn't... I'm not a delicate flower but watching the guys in my row laughing themselves senseless over a battered Missi Pyle crying in her undies while handcuffed and forced under a freezing hosepipe shower was just not really my cup...

Re: Space for food etc between films

being fairly in command of my bodily functions and happy to subsist on sweets from morrisons i found i had plenty of time and was usually sat waiting in screens with about 25mins to go, but i did like the longer breaks last year giving us the time to wander to soho and eat better food than kfc/burge...

Re: Quality of films this year

i definitely felt like the first post until things picked up on sunday and monday. monday saved the festival for me, liked all the films i saw that day and most of my top 5 would be from it too. i dont know if 2016 was a slow year for horror but there were generally better offerings in 2015, i thoug...
