Re: Goodbye. Doesn't feel like FrightFest anymore.

I Don't think comparisons are being made to say one Festival is better than the other - they are chalk & cheese. The Original post was alluding to the lowering of quality, and part of the reason is that the LFF are grabbing films they weren't pre 2014. When you're showing 80 odd films then there are...

Re: Goodbye. Doesn't feel like FrightFest anymore.

A lot of this is probably more down to London Film Festival than Frightfest really. If a film gets booked at LFF then it can't be shown at another festival. I bought the French Bluray as a stop-gap before an International (US?) release. You only really need the subs for the 'stuck-on' ending (as the rest is pretty much in English) - so, if you saw it at Frightfest you'll know what happens, so it is easy to sit through. Recommended as it is.

Re: Quality of films this year

@Magic Hour I would have to agree with whoever you spoke to about not showing A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night - sappy emo vampire flick which had the temerity to bill itself as Iranian horror, despite being shot in California! It was no great loss to Fright Fest. On the other hand, most of the oth...

Re: Quality of films this year

My attendance at FRIGHTFEST has been sporadic over the years due to various reasons, but I keep close tabs on the films showing and I have noticed a downturn in the quality of the product. At the same time I have noticed that the London Film Festival, since re-inventing itself (in 2013 I think) with...
