Re: Top Five FF17 Films

For me it was:

Better Watch Out
Deathnote
Sequence Break
Dead Shack
It Stains the Sand Red

Re: Overall Thoughts

It was my first time so I didn't really know what to expect from the event, but was very surprised and happy overall. I have very bad social anxiety and am incredibly shy, but I found everyone to be very friendly and happy, with the horror screen and Duke Mitchell Party having great atmosphere. I wa...

Re: Attack of the Adult Babies

Yeah, It was his stepsister, but we only found that out in one line during the cgi section. Still was a bit cringey, regardless of their relationship.

Re: Ruin Me

I agree with Alex mostly. it started off good but then fell a little flat near the middle and failed to get back up. The main plot twist was ruined for me a little too early on as soon as things started to seem a bit off with the bf. Still likable characters (or likable unlikable characters in Pitch...

Re: 3rd Night

I found this rather dull, the villain was obvious right from the start and lacked any kind of personality. The protagonists made completely stupid choices (you get a threatening letter and obviously have a peeping tom and you DONT call the police?) and went particularly interesting. The homeless cha...

Re: Dead Shack

Although the horror was on the lightside and the ending was unsatifying, I really liked this movie because of the humor and likable characters. Would have been better if the dad had somehow survived, maybe by becoming a zombie and having the family suddenly in the villains shoes as having a loved on...

Re: Cult of Chucky

It was an okay film but it seemed a bit hollow with an unsatifying ending. Andy was wasted and about as useful as a wet tea-towel, and the deaths were unimagiative. In fact the first main death was taken directly from Bride of Chucky, pretty much. Acting was fine, characters were decent, effects goo...

Re: The Terror of Hallow's Eve

For me it was like an episode of Are you Afraid of the Dark with the tiresome cookie cutter characters, typical simple plot and unimaginative kills. The trickster character was excellent (im a sucker for rhyme) and I liked the puppets in the circus part, but I felt that some of the effects were poor...

Re: Attack of the Adult Babies

Uncreative, purile, not remotely funny or scary, utterly unlikable characters, creepy incest subplot, badly animated claymation and overly long drawn out gags (the intermission and the bike that wouldnt start) that werent funny. On the plus side, its much less about fetish shaming that I thought it ...

Re: Victor Crowley

Ive never seen any of the Hatchet films, so this one didnt enthuse me much before I went in. Luckily apart from the final stinger, the film set the history and plot up enough where I didnt really need to know the other 3 movies. The kills were alright, some of the humor was ok (such as Wilf at the b...

Re: Better Watch Out

For me, this was the best film of the lot. The acting was good, the deaths were excellent and gorey, without showing much of the actual gore and the villain was evil, calculated and chilling. He went from a normal 12 year old to a bit obsessed to a bit crazy to full on psychopath. The twist in the e...

Re: Psychopaths

I HATED this movie, it was a complete mess of confusing elements that tried to be linked stories and failed miserably. Just as Soapmaker says, I think it would have been a lot better without the starkweather plot and just did them as 3 short stories - the rapist/femme fatale, Lumbering masked killer...

Re: Best deaths of the festival?

The decapitation in Deathnote and the 'home alone' death in Better Watch Out.

Also liked all the deaths in Radius just because of how sudden and stylish they were.

Re: Best and worst film?

For me the best watch Better Watch Out. Simple story, great acting (especially by the main child actor) and a great final twist that had the audience cheering. Honourable mention for Sequence Break Worst was a tie between Adult Babies (for being purile and just plain silly) and Psychopaths (for bein...

Re: Personal safety

I approve of this advice! Also, if youre thinking of dressing up or bringing any 'props' (ie chucky dolls) think twice about any fake weapons you might want to bring. Under the circumstances and in light of recent events, its probably better to be safer that have that authentic chucky doll with the ...
