Sounds like there's a story or two here?

Re: Train Travel - Bank Holiday Weekend

Yup! Bastards got me last year with it. Booked my season ticket before works were announced, needed to go back and forth a couple of days for work and realised a week beforehand that I wouldn't be able to because Euston was bloody SHUT!!! Ended up doing work stuff from the hotel room in the evenings...

Train Travel - Bank Holiday Weekend

Thought this might be useful for some. I got caught out by these last year and thought it might help others. Especially those travelling home straight from the last film. Once again Euston Station is completely closed down for the bank holiday weekend. No trains going ion or out with insane diversio...

Re: Frightfest Guest List Announced

So... remember last year when they had a HATCHET 1 showing planned, and it was revealed that it was a brand new HATCHET film? That was curious. Anyway, on a totally different note - there's a 4K restoration of the original HALLOWEEN playing this year. Holy shit dude... :o I did briefly consider thi...

Won't be there for the quiz the night before, but the rest of it, for sure.

Re: What Seat did you get? (2018)

It's literally the only place I don't mind going to on my own.
Love getting to know the crazies in the seats around me!

Only 13 years and I can bring the daughter along!

On my lonesome again this year.
I'll be the lonely guy in G20 feeling all sorry for myself!

Re: Accommodation

Covent Garden Hub breakfast isn't unlimited, just a choice from a reasonable menu for £5. Still much better value than anything else nearby though. Yeah, looking at CG (and Brick Lane) they seem to have a different system to the others, although it still looks good. I've stayed at Kings Cross, Good...

Pretty much my feelings when I booked Westminster.
And it's a lovely walk.

Re: Goodbye. Doesn't feel like FrightFest anymore.

That's a shame. Granted, I'm only a couple of years in, but I've always enjoyed my time at the festival. In my third year, it's been about the same ratio every year. 1/3 films I have hard of 2/3 films i haven't. One I look them all up it ends around 3/4 films i'm interested in and 1/4 films I'll wat...

Re: Accommodation

I stayed at the Covent Garden one last year, too.
Really nice (apart from leaky air-con night one which was sorted)

Trying to convince the wife to come with me this year so I kept the cost down from £500 to £300 going to the Westminster one. Hope it's decent.

Re: FrightFest 2018

Yeah, that doesn't bring up anything. Just links to the current Frightfest tickets page, with no registration options there. Hopefully there'll be some way to pre-register, or buy tickets without being registered otherwise that's going to put people like me at a bit of a disadvantage. Go here: http...

Re: Accommodation

Yeah, I spotted the price was higher than most people had mentioned in previous years. Being the first year I PLANNED to stay in London for the duration, I did a bit of hunting around. Honestly, settled for a Hub in Westminster. A bit of a trek but I like the walk (assuming the weather is good) and ...
