Re: 2023 guests
Good point. Still, would have been nice to have been told something. The whole festival feels a little different this year, and not in a good way. The cutting down of weekend passes, the thing with the goodie bags released today, and the absence of any announcement over guests. Hoping it’s alright o...

Re: 2023 guests
I’ve got the same question. Seems to me the guests are usually posted a lot earlier than this?

Re: Knives and Skin
Walked out on this one. There is always a film at every Festival that after 15 minutes has you mentally listing all the things you would rather be doing. This was it for me, after 20 minutes I decided to go and do some of them!
Re: Rabid
It was good, maybe no great, but definately worth catching. A more logic choice, imo, to close the festival than A GOOD WOMAN..., which was a good, well made thriller but not one to get the audience on their feet
Re: Mary
Agree with general feeling. like so many movies coming out of Hollywood it was bland and derivative. A horror movie for people who don't watch or haven't watched many, horror movie

Q + A's at Cineworld
Fantastic to see them back. Not sure what the problem was last year but it really enhanced the experience for me this year. Alexandre Aja was the best for me, closely followed by the Soskas', obviously)

Re: BRING BACK THE Q & As
I was the London Film Festival a few weeks ago, it didn't seem to bother the film directors there that some people had trains to catch and/or just weren't that into the film. And as I mentioned early, it makes a big difference to the experience

Re: The Golem
Beautiful photography and nice performance from leading lady but it was a little slow and it shortchanged us on the mayhem when the golem was unleashed. I sensed that the directors we're maybe being too respectful to the Hebrew myths and religions and missed the opportunity to deliver something real...

Re: Strong Year?
Defies tell a middling year. I I don't think I saw anything that I would sit down and watch again, that's not to say I didn't enjoy watching them to begin with but there was nothing outstanding. Agree with posters who say it's all DVD stuff but that seems to be the way the festival runs these days, ...
Re: Terrified
I agree with earlier post, its a darker, scarier X Files. Not as good as hyped, lets face it, it was never going to be, but worth watching definitely

Re: Open 24 Hours
Can't imagine why anyone who likes horror movies would hate this, nor can I see anyone who has watched a lot of horror moves would love it. It's just another slasher, nicely photographed, professionally staged and well acted but nothing new
Re: Climax
Best film of the festival for me, by far. The only one to produce an almost physical shock moment (actually several) where a sharp intake of breath and a moment to gather myself was required. Not an easy film to watch, arguably not a film at all, certainly not a feature film, but a piece of exhilara...

Re: BRING BACK THE Q & As
From my observation over the years, the majority of ticket holders stay for the Q&As, the filmmakers also seem to enjoy it. Goes back to my earlier point, the festival has always been about interacting with the guests and them feeling the love from the audience

Re: BRING BACK THE Q & As
Anyone know why they have stopped them, what problem they are trying to solve?
