Glasgow Accommodation

Not yet actually sure whether I can make the festival, but if I can, any recommendations for accommodation in Glasgow? I stayed at Citizen X last time (2011), which was alright but I think I overspent a bit (I wasn't working at the time).

Re: FrightFest ticketing 2015

So long as I can get an aisle seat, I'm happy. But I'll miss the Q so much if it's not there. It's part of the event, it's a tradition and I'll be inordinately sorry to see it go.

Re: Tickets faded.

Mine don't look too bad at the moment - the pass been sealed up in a mostly dark cupboard since I got it. That said, I'm thinking of making a couple of high-resolution scans just in case. I'm not sure whether mine could be reprinted at the Vue as I paid with banknotes rather than with a card. I'm wo...

Re: How Film4 FrightFest will work in 2014

According to the official twitter feed today, screen 5 is the most convenient one - it's on the ground floor and easiest to get in and out of. The other two bigger screen are up a set of escalators inside the building. Screen 5 is actually the largest of the three. But Screen 6 (the smallest one) s...

Re: We are taking questions about FrightFest 2014

Will the placement of sleeper queue change this year as far as you're aware? Or will it be bottom of LS for the night & move to the Vue at dawn? At least we won't have to break the queue for the tourist tat shop next to the Empire! (Also the Vue is 30 seconds closer to Holborn Halls so we can h...

Re: We are taking questions about FrightFest 2014

So, if I understand right, the same films will be shown in 5, 6 and 7 (though perhaps in a different order), so there'd be no need for full passholders to switch between those three screens as they're the same set of films. Meanwhile Screens 3 and 8 will have totally different films, showing once on...

Re: We are taking questions about FrightFest 2014

The Disco screens (3 and 8 ) are 299 and 180 seats respectively, so they're much definitely bigger than the Empire's! :)

Re: We are taking questions about FrightFest 2014

Don't know if these are much use - they don't really give the scale of the room - but here are seating plans from Vue's site for the three main screens:

Re: FrightFest 2014

I'm working on a better system for discovery screen tickets. Thinking of some type of online system using smart phones and tablets. It would be along the lines of entering films you want to see in order of preference the day before. Tickets would then be allocated and would be waiting for collectio...

Re: What films do you want for FrightFest 2014?

we'll be able to tailor our ideal line-ups. This is what excites me most about the potential new incarnation of the festival. Brings it very much in line with a lot of the other US genre festivals. As for the new titles, Richard, I'd reccomend having a peek at the SXSW Midnighters lineup & Cann...

Re: What films do you want for FrightFest 2014?

With four screens to pick from there's almost certain to be something good in every screening slot so we'll be able to tailor our ideal line-ups. I haven't been keeping up with what's new (beyond reading Alan Jones' postcards from Berlin) so I wouldn't know where to start nominating films. Just hopi...
