Just got in so keeping it VERY mellow with a nice mix from the laptop including Low, Broadcast, Scott Walker, Cat Power, Bat for Lashes (props to Soulmining..) and the master Morricone (giallo scores).........

I had the misfortune of seeing 'Dreamgirls' at a preview last year. Unless your idea of heaven is a blandified, TV movie lite version of The Supremes story with all the tunes, sass, soul and funk replaced by bad white showtunes, don't bother. Caught a few movies just after Christmas.. Apocalypto Despite the absurd title which sounds like some kind of tropical fruit drink, this is the first major work of the new year. Comes on very strong. The pacing is ferocious and the flick has an almost B-movie sensibility with moments of Aguirre styl...
