Managed to get to see Superbad last night. I liked it. I'm a massive Arrested Development fan and so seeing Michael Cera in a major movie was great.

This Is England turned up yesterday. My favourite film this year by some way. Looks like the extra features are pretty good too.

Apparently I my Marx Brothers boxset finally arrived today. This one features 'Cocoanuts' 'A Girl In Every Port' 'Room Service' and 'Love Happy', all of which I haven't seen. Exciting stuff.

Just got back from Knocked Up. Funny movie. Would have been better with a slight trim but overall better than I had thought it would be (I was a touch sceptical due to the massive amount of hype).

Rest of the weekend Crimes and Misdemeanors - Woody Allen comedy drama. A few morality tales running alongside each other, ranging from the darkly dramatic to a more light hearted comedic romance story. Where it's funny, it's hilarious. Alan Alda is perfectly cast as the TV big shot with some intere...

It's Saturday, a day off when I can take a little extra sleep in the morning to catch up after a hectic week. It's only natural that I would wake at 7. I tried to get back to sleep but it wasn't happeneinng. What to do, what to do. My initial thought of, and I hope you'll excuse the crass honesty he...

Recently I've seen The Departed - I like this film a lot. So many great things about it. Superb performances all round (yes, even Mark Wahlberg, who is fantastic in this), with Jack Nicholson proving an inspired choice for the menacing criminal. The scene with Matt Damon and Di Caprio on the phone i...

Hustle and Flow[/b] - I never thought I'd like this, but it was actually really good. I liked this film too. What surprised me most is that this is now two films where the rapper Ludacris has really impressed me. This weekend I saw Art School Confidential - I really liked Ghost World and Bad Santa,...

This is why I'm not writing for Sight and Sound. :) And you never will at this rate, you're actually criticising a film. I don't know if it's just the few issues I've read but it just seems to be a great big circle jerk in that magazine. Am I wrong? I've never cover-to-covered it, I haven't had the...

Kill Bill, both volumes back to back last night. Never noticed that I prefer volume 1 before. Love them both, mind.

You're not alone with Right At Your Door. I didn't care for it. Seemed like it had enough idea's for a TV episode but wasn't enough to fill a feature.

Speaking of TV episodes and going slightly back to Boosh, it's a shame we never found out if Disco Mouse came down alright after that gram of speed.

I hate posting everything I've watched in here, it feels like I'm keeping a film diary. But I'm really, really bored. So recently, it's been, Big Nothing - Simon Pegg and David Schwimmer 'comedy', I'm told. Not funny. Not good. Never mind. Halloween 3 - Never seen this before. Started out quite well...

Recently seen Gone - Actually quite enjoyed it. Looked great, relatively well acted (although the antagonist didn't really strike as imposing). It was always obvious where it was going and the end was a little flat (anyone who has seen it will like that little pun, I'm sure). I actually think this m...

Matt, have you seen Abre Los Ojos ( Open Your Eyes ). It's brilliant -- rather like the razor sharp, crafty and non-literal version of Vanilla Sky . Which, being that it's the original version of the story, it literally is. It's time for him to change the record (moreso than Kevin Smith, at least.)...
