jonbly doesn't care that your relationship has fallen apart and you're a bit sad and weepy. That's some other movie. jonbly just wants you to hurry up and die.

Nicely done... another example of how to make a good movie without spending a fortune.

A bit like watching a feature-length episode of The Royle Family... but funny!

Trailer Park of Terror

Really well done... good makeup and effects, and the rockin' zombie was a particular hit.

But it still suffers from the same problem as 2001 Maniacs... it's just killing a string of unlikeable twats who are better off dead. At least this time we had a Survivor Girl to hang our sympathies on.

King of the Hill

More hoodies! ...which is presumably why it didn't quite make the cut this year.

Pretty good, although the use of rifles, and hiding the identity of the attackers, leaves it too late in the film to bring the two sides together.

Time Crimes

Nicely done. A good example of how a good movie can be made with little money when the script is set up for it.

And, as usual, no need for a remake. Americans won't understand it anyway...

Scar 3D

jonbly liked the film... but the 3D really didn't work out. In particular: 1) the opening scene doesn't work because a) it's a deep shot and b) we're not used to the effect yet. It needs to start with a simple scene. 2) dark shots result in a lot of reflections and artifacts... so this process proba...

I Know How Many Runs You Scored Last Summer

Looked cheap, which is always a put off. But it turned out to be OK.

So much better than the trailer led jonbly to believe... that trailer was awful.

Eden Lake

jonbly liked this one. The first beach scene was nicely awkward, and the lead youth (in fact, the whole gang) was very well played. The ending was nicely set up, too.

jonbly will try to get off his fat lazy arse and update this... but feel free to chip in any info you have (particularly the running order for the mini-events since last year). This version's from November 2007...

just watched phantasm 4, finished off the box set and felt a bit unsatisfied. I thought the ending was too open to finish of a series of 4 movies. The script for "Phantasm 1999" was big and apocalyptic and violent... and no-one would stump up the money to make it. So Phantasm IV happened instead......

Caught Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation before Crimbo. It's so bad, it's... well, still bad. The best thing that can be said about it is that Renee Zellwegger's involvement creates some good material for an alternate ending to Bridget Jones's Diary...

That reminds jonbly of Miller's Crossing (a film about hats) and Wyatt Earp (a film about moustaches).

EXTE was quite a good laugh... though the LFF crowd sat there in stony silence whilst jonbly rocked in lonely silent giggles; mainly at the deeply loopy performance of Ren Osugi. It also manages to be a decent J-horror, too.

It's probably a Marmite film though.
