I just think the hype pointed in the wrong direction. I absolutely loved the twists, and I obviously loved the extreme gore - definitely not gratuitous. "Inside" was gratuitous (and awesome), but not this one. When they remove her skin I kind of thought "F**k, does this mean we don't get the big rev...

I'd remove "probably", but I want to re-watch Mortal Kombat first

Fantastic mix of Verhoeven, Cronenberg and Yuzna but not a bit as pretentious. I really struggled to stay awake as I'm not used to watch 7 films in a row (yes, that's been my first FrighFest), so the second half felt a bit like an abstract movie to me, but I can't wait to see it again. VERY nerd que...

Really good "things aren't always easy as they seem" thriller in the vein of Zodiac and Memories of Murder. Definitely in my top three.

I never walk out of movies, so I desperately tried to sleep instead... but couldn't :(

Can't believe how this made the selection. I'm all for passionate independent filmakers with no budget, but still prefer to laugh all my way out of something like Mirrors than having to watch this again.

I generally can't stand characters who decide that the smartest thing to do in life is to stalk and piss off a serial killer who looks like Vinnie Jones. And here we have the photographer (ok, he was kind of motivated) and even his girlfriend (definitely less motivated). But here we have Kitamura mo...

That's how a good movie should be made. You know you haven't a very original story on your hands, so you focus on charachters and good gags. Mission accomplished. Only issue: how old was the tough guy who dies half way? 34??

Really loved this one. Probably the best thing is that it goes straight to the point after only 7 minutes, thus treating us with 80 minutes of "substance"

A pleasant surprise. Lots of flaws here and there, but in the end I kind of felt the love for the southern culture the director was talking about, and that alone was refreshing enough for me. The rock'n'roll touch was great.

I hated this movie. It's well made and very well acted, but I had a fundamental problem with its message which I thought was reactionary middle-class toss. I'm sure the Daily Mail will hate it, like they hate every genre film, but really it's one of their editorials come to bloody life. Same for me...

Trick or Treat A heavy metal horror. Gene Simmons and Ozzy Osbourne provide cameos but only Ozzy's was really memorable. The lead is a uncharismatic lump and every one else just looks bland. The lead villain could have been a lot better (should have been Alice Cooper imo) and his powers seem to be ...

The first one is great too.
Not sure about the second though, I saw it once when I was 12 and I can't remember if it's any good... probably not that much since I didn't feel the need to watch it again
