See thats the thing... I really really dig Murder Ballads to the point that it gets a listen at least once a week.

Maybe Grinderman needs another listen.

Hmm.

Is the new Nick Cave album any good?

I have about 8 of his albums, but the only one I really dig is Murder Ballads.

Horror Movie Spoof In Not-As-Useless-As-Feared Shock! Well, when I say "not as useless as feared", that's no indication that Shriek If You Know What I Did Last Friday The 13th is actually any good - but it's better than Scary Movie 1 despite going over much the same ground (specifically Scream and ...

That was my point. People can really get into his writing or people can think it is absolute shite.

But you can't argue that his framing and vision is impeccable, as a visual director he is among the finest.

Of course, you are dead right. I never really saw them as "literal metaphors" just visual metaphors that don't leave a lot to the imagination, but you are dead right they could definitely be construed at literal metaphors.

Well that isn't strictly what I said :P I was talking more about his visuals than his writing skills, because although in my opinion his written word is fantastic... Its very open to interpretation. I agree about the connection with Lynch and Kubrick though, Lynch's work is a natural evolution on th...

The thing about David Lynch is, beyond the quirkiness of his written words, he is such a god damn brilliant director. Every frame, every single piece of the image is so lovingly created, its incredible. There is nothing in frame in any image of any of his films that wasn't in his vision of the scene...

Troma's Edge TV was delivered over the weekend.

As was season 1 of Heroes.

And I went out today with a view to buying something I didn't have that said David Lynch on it. I got Inland Empire. Review will follow soon.

Bottom line: if I'd known it was Troma's I wouldn't have touched it. As a Troma fan, I am mildly offended by this, Lions Gate release a lot of shit but I would judge every film based on Catacoombs. Troma have released some real classics over the years, including Bloodsucking Freaks, the Toxic Aveng...

Like Living Dead Girl -- fantastic counterpoint to Rollin's more exploitationy Raisins De Mort . Richard, you didn't go to Eurofest when Rollin was there did you, in 1996 I think it was? Grapes... on the big screen (and Living Dead Girl with the reels round the wrong way -- quite posibly with no en...

Easily my favourite Youtube clip:

The MANtage

I read a few years ago that Barats and Bereta had been opted by TV to write some shows, but I haven't seen any evidence of it as of yet.

Cryin' shame.
