DOUBLE POST ALERT I just watched a brit indie called Expiry Date which was filmed in my home town of Wrexham, North Wales predominantly with a cast of students from Yale College (which is where I went for a time), I was conviced to buy the dvd by a fellow film fan who directed the documentary on the...

I love Dead & Buried but the twist spoiled it for me. Big time.

Maybe spoiled isn't the word, but it certainly made me feel a bit cheated.

C.H.U.D. is brill! Although the ROTLD fan in me prefers the sequel CHUD II: Bud The Chud. Mainly because it reeks of ROTLD, as it would being adapted from an early draft of the ROTLD III script. My latest Troma job lot arrived including: Surf Nazis Must Die (possibly my favourite Tromovie, and a rep...

I was away over the weekend, I came home to find: Toxie's Blood Bank (Which contains 10 films they probably couldn't flog without the Toxie name attached, but what can I say... I'm a sucker for Troma) The 10 films are: Horror Of The Hungry Humongous Hungan Beyond Evil Evil Clutch Nightmare Weekend (...

Eh, [REC] - I guess the worst thing you can say about is it's an easy fall back for two very talented directors to regain some mojo and prove what vital, stripped down and rather effective filmmakers they can be. The best, that it's an effective and mercifully swift amalgamation of the 21st century...

I normally find with joblots under 20 DVDs, that if there is more than 5 that I own it isn't strictly worth it. But if there is only a small percentage, I can usually make my money back selling a new job lot of the 5 DVD duplicates thus resulting in what is effectively a free lump of DVDs. And that ...

I already own Pulse, The Grudge, Roadkill and Jeepers Creepers but for £15 you really can't argue.

I watched Behind The Mask last night, which was a nice spoof/homage to the slasher genre. Starring many faces from syndicated TV shows, the acting was pretty good.

The film was amusing and riddled with in-jokes although it lost itself in the end with its poor twist and silly ending.

7/10

In the showing of [REC] that I attended there were 6 people.

I think it stuck too closely to 80s conventions, don't get me wrong... it was darn good. I was expecting quite a lot though and it didn't hit the standards I had.

Shame really.

Joy Ride is the American name for Roadkill, no?

POST-WATCH EDIT I have never seen a trailer that looks so "meh".

picked up Willard & Copland special edition today. I love Willard, its like the character was created for Crispin Glover (unless you picked up the first adaptation, in that case I shall shut up). I rate it next to Bartleby as my joint favourite Crispin Glover performance. Recently arrived is: Frog-...
