Re: Parking

I work for q park down in cornwall hopefully ian can get you a discount It'd be nice. We used to get a discount a few years back when Frightfest was in the west end (can't remember if that was at the Empire or Odeon West End now). Or maybe it was at the Vue. Blimey, I must be getting senile when I ...

Re: Parking

Hi Ian. Any more news on how to get that 20% car parking discount? I'm assuming one of the two car parks you mentioned is the Q-Parks in Chinatown?

Re: To Trailer or not?

Yeah. Same here. Go in knowing as little as possible. Often I'll wait til the day itself before reading the programme notes to get an idea of what I'm about to watch. Which obviously means I spend most of my time in the main screen rather than the disco screens. Although in Duke Mitchell's case you'...

Re: Booked

Not so smooth for me, I clicked on the link the second it appeared but somehow almost the whole of the centre block had already disappeared. How does that happen? Ended up way out in one of the side blocks. Oh well. I'll just have to hope all the good stuff happens on the left hand side of the scre...

Re: Issue with booking - please help

Ah, the annual heart in the mouth adrenalin rush that is buying a Frightfest weekend pass. This year I got through quickly enough and was tasked with getting 5 seats, hopefully all together. And I thought I had them too until the system told me they'd already gone. Tried a number of times on differe...

Thanks for that. Now I can chuckle to it all over again (while crossing my legs!) :D

Top 3 (all 9/10's) Pet Train To Busan Realive closely followed by these 8/10's... They Call Me Jeeg Robot The Master Cleanse Beyond The Gates Johnny Frank Garret's Last Word 31 The Windmill Massacre Oh yeah, and the half hour between movies that I spent at the Duke Mitchell Party was an absolute hoo...

Re: Train to Busan

I have to say though, the train to Busan full of zombies wasn't enough to prepare me for the horrors of the Central Line full of Notting Hill Carnival survivors... Tell me about it. I drove to Frightfest each day (at £6 a pop for parking it was far cheaper than the West End's £35 a day!). After Tra...

Re: Train to Busan

Fantastic way to close this years Frightfest with some fabulous set pieces. Loved the shots of rabid zombies falling through windows and out of train carriages en masse and the movie had arguably the most hissable viillain of the whole festival (although I'd say Richard Brake's articulate Doom-Head ...

Re: Johnny Frank Garrett's Last Word

8/10 here too. Was fascinated by the mix of what was based on fact and what obviously wasn't (it as good as started heading down the Exorcist route when the kid was taken to the hospital). Although I didn't pick up on the Adam Redman character (the dad/reluctant juror) being fictional until I had a ...

Re: 31

Couldn't help but like this from the opening moment when Richard Brake appeared onscreen in glorious black and white (nice to have an articulate psycho for once). There was no pretence to the film, being little more than an excuse for loads of violence (loved the demented three pronged chainsaw batt...

Re: Realive

Loved it. It looked as if it was about to go off the boil in the fifth act but recovered well. I found I had something in my eye at the end but it wasn't tears or nothing. Honest. Joint top film so far for me (along with Pet). 9/10.

Re: Blood Feast

It was the that "would you like to see me with cum on my face?" line that did it for me. Forget the tongue ripping and willy chopping, that's what will stay with me over the coming (sorry) years. Worst film of the festival so far but it did make me chuckle at times.
