Watched 3 films recently: The Mist has a host of familiar faces with some effective setpieces and sequences. Watched The Children last night for the first time. A deliciously dark and twisted tale of modern family life. An engrossing and enjoyable addition to a rapidly expanding sub-genre. 8/10

Saw Splinter last night, I'd give it 7.5 / 10. Some interesting ideas and creature, albeit not entirely original. Think The Thing meets Evil Dead!

It has its moments, but it could've been more tense and claustrophobic. Overall, enjoyable enough with the usual set-up for a sequel.
