Films everyone loves... except you!

There are many... I see some of the ones that came to mind just on this page (Hurt Locker, Fight Club). I think my biggest would have to be THE MATRIX. I didn't dislike the film, but I watched it and was like "eh, whatever" and then for the next month I hear everyone talking nonstop about how amazi...

Films everyone loves... except you!

Kick Ass. Rudderless, under produced, misconceived, only a ball hair above Superhero movie. In fact not that good.

what dvds are we buying?

Sony strangled the HD DVD because they couldn't afford to loose having done so with Beta and Minidisc (who ever had that shit?). Blu Ray is very expensive, Asda want £22.97 for Centurion, no one will buy that.

Annoying Movie Goers

It was due to a fight in the second screen where they were showing a heavy metal docu. My mate got put out because of it, he was actually at the toilet, and we went to Firewater with an nice couple all the way up from England. Can't remember the guys name but he did have a princess bride quote on hi...

Re: Doghouse scenes

I think the scenes belong in the movie. How can the studio read a script then when they see a film say, "Nope all that all has to go." Answer; they don't read the script, listen at meetings, look at director notes their doing coke and blokes down their favourite Soho nightspots.

Re: Black Death preview

I'll bet it's 10x better than the Nic Cage with similar poster. Have you seen the trailer for that thing? It looks like an absolute car crash. Anyways, I liked the look of Black Death a lot, Chris Smith has got a nice quality curve rising through his films. Yeah *snigger*. Nic Cage is a nutter.

Re: Centurion

I think he meant "bolloks" as in it would've sounded rubbish, all that gob running down that camera lens and such. It's a modern action film set in Roman times and it won't be any more inaccurate that the astonishingly inacurrate, and hated by this Scotsman alone, Braveheart. Being from Glasgow I l...

Just had a revelation that Dren turns into The Creeper at the end!

Maybe next time the shocking sex scene will be in REC 3 where someone does the possessed thing in the loft. Oh no i've started it now...

Re: Black Death preview

I've loved all of Chris Smith films so far. As with Centurion I just wanted to see the whole thing. I'll bet it's 10x better than the Nic Cage with similar poster.

Re: A LIZARD IN A WOMAN'S SKIN

"I remember that night - My wind-screen wiper broke!" I liked it, thought it could go either way, but the plot was decent and was full of brilliant quotes. The whistling cop was awesome, had my pal doing it for the rest of the night though... Brilliant line. Makes you think was GIALLO intentionally...

Re: Centurion

actually puppy i had a whole passage typed lamenting the dialogue - particularly the "arsehole of the world" bit. urgh That was the bit of dialogue that done it for me. I wasn't expecting 100% historically accurate speech, but that part pulled me out of a film that otherwise could be an enjoyable r...

Re: AMER

Has anyone figured out why the female co-director introduced it as a story about smells? I got what she meant by watching with all your five senses the language of the film provided the sight (and it was all about looking and wanting to touch) and the sound especially invited me to feel the touch of...

This answered all my questions and made me realise i'm not savvy enough on cinema. Where can I take a course?

Still hate the middle sexual awaking section. Thinking of writing my own giallo know, though with plot.

Re: AMER (Bitter) giallo tribute movie...

Thanks for that link, a great article and I now realise i do not know enough about the films involved. This movie is so well constructed I'm so glad I read this. Yes I think it's pretentious but now i love it and get it!

I now know why Alan loves it so much.
