Re: No Pheonix!

Panic possibly averted? @Film4Frightfest tweeted (in response to tweets about the lack of Phoenix): Nothing is fully decided yet, hang tight and we'll let you all know soon what's happening. Hopefully something will be officially arranged, but up until yesterday I believe that it was still everyone...

Re: No headline guest this year?

Interesting, Paul McEvoy tweeted (RT'd by @Film4Frightfest): This years @Film4FrightFest @Variety_Film special interview spotlight event will be @mr_wheatley hosted by @yo_damo @mr_wheatley is Kill List director Ben Wheatley, of course. Have we had a "Variety Film Interview Spotlight" in previous y...

Re: Discovery Film Recommendations

But I think that it was because it was opposite Tobe Hooper's "Eggshells" mostly... :green: (BTW: Loved "Burning Bright". Perfect trashy fun. Wished that had got more attention...) Wish I'd been one of the people to go for Burning Bright that year (which I also eventually bought on DVD and agree th...

Re: This years Festival guests

"Don Mancini is no stranger to FrightFest. The creator of the celebrated CHUCKY horror series joined us back in 2004 and we are thrilled to welcome him back to Great Britain as director and writer of CURSE OF CHUCKY and, yes, we have asked him to bring over his beloved star" OK, I now have another a...

Re: What does everyone think of the line up then?

Kim Newman tipped Dark Touch, Cheap Thrills and We Are What We Are, on Facebook today. Is the 'We Are what We Are' a remake of the Mexican one shown at FF a few years back? I know a lot of people enjoyed it but I really didn't. I found it slow, predictable and rather dull actually. I'll give this o...

Re: No headline guest this year?

Any guesses as to who it may be? Well, Hatchet is one of Adam Green's films. It's highly likely he's going to be hanging around, what with that film and the episodes of Holliston on D1 it's a safe bet that Adam will be there. Wouldn't surprise me if he takes up the interview spot here. He's always ...

Can't really add much more to this over and above what Atari has posted, I can just agree with him / her. I've not know autographs to be chargeable, although there was one recently where the guest (I forget who) was only getting their book signed and nothing else - and they sold the book in the foye...

Re: 3D Films for Frightfest 2013

3D works quite well for animated films. Seeing UP in 3D was pretty good. However i've not been impressed with live-action in 3D at all. Also the additional markup in ticket prices for an already expensive evening out just makes it even less tempting. The only live-action film that actually benefited...

Re: What does everyone think of the line up then?

The biggest clashes I have are: Painless or Outpost: Rise of the Spetsnaz, Cannon fodder or Contracted and Sadik 2 or Antisocial. Any help deciding welcome! Also, perhaps we could exchange twitter names for us to share reviews of the films during the FF weekend? I think if Outpost: Rise of the Spet...

Re: Where Is Everyone Sitting?

DD44/45 (I think). Up on the circle lording it over everyone below, but this time went for seats directly over the entrance. I'm hoping this means no chance of anyone with big hair sitting in-front of me, and nobody constantly pushing their seat forward/back infront of me which would be nice. Howev...

Re: VHS 2 - do I or don't I?

Yeah, go for it and watch it early. That way you can keep nudging the bloke next to you too say "ooh, this is a good bit conning up now".

Everyone loves it when people do that.
