Monolith

Competent enough isolation thriller, but as someone whose day job is in automotive engineering there were far too many issues with the world's safest car apparently being so unsafe it was capable of imprisoning a passenger with no means of escape. Plus, it's got an onboard supercomputer that can wei...

Re: Director's Cut

Agreed. A one joke movie that stretches its singular conceit out to 90 minutes.

Re: Food & Booze in Shepherd's Bush

We followed this recommendation and it was indeed really good and freshly made while we waited! We were idiots and walked straight past it a few times (and went over to the main Westfield thinking it was over there) to find it, initially, but it was worth the hunt. Thanks! You're welcome. :) I've e...

Re: Mercy

Could have been better if it wasn't unnecessarily stretched out by having the same sequence replayed from different perspectives which actually did very little to advance the story or reveal pertinent plot points. Also wasn't clear when this looping started until I saw someone who had previously bee...

Re: vue toilets

Also, if you walk to the back of West 12 towards Morrisons, turn right and walk down there, there are some toilets on the right hand side (just after the Amazon lockers). Haven't used them but they can't be any worse than the Vue's. They also may have hand driers that actually dry, rather than makin...

Not sure you could spoil this, it pans out exactly as you'd expect once the cleanse stuff starts.

Re: Abbatoir

Liked the idea, but the execution was badly fumbled. The detective with dialogue from a 50s potboiler was jarringly out of place and I even spent the first 10 minutes wondering when this film was actually set! Lin Shaye great as ever though. I had that same feeling too, especially as the opening sc...

It was busy in there last night which is always a good sign and £14.99 all you can eat will do me!
Someone posted on Facebook the other day that it was awful. Seen a fair few 'festers in there so it can't be all bad.

That Roosters Piri Piri on the front does some very nice, fresh made burgers if you're in a hurry. Ate there between films tonight and it was lovely.

Re: Can Thurs Night/Friday folks report in on the aircon situation as usual!

Personally found it a little bit warm and stuffy in the Horror screen by the final film of the night. Before then it was fine, certainly not cold by any definition. I'll see your 'warm and stuffy' and raise you a 'chuffing boiling'. It's like they switched the aircon off after Cell. Not going to be...

Re: Phoenix?

That is normally the case but my friend knows them well and can get us in any time of the year as long as he phones first. Grand. Just mentioning it in case people turned up and were disappointed. Just so everyone knows-anyone with a Frightfest pass apparently WILL be allowed entry to the Phoenix t...

Re: Phoenix?

So is the Wetherspoons staying open late? Some of my mates are still gonna head to the Phoenix otherwise. Cheers. I think I'm right in saying the Phoenix is normally a private members club, but opens its doors in partnership with Frightfest each year. If it's not the official drinking hole of FF thi...

Re: Extra screenings of fully booked films

I think you also have to remember: if there's a disco film you want to see, and you don't have/couldn't get a ticket, you could always try rocking up and seeing if there's any space available (obviously this may mean missing out on or arriving late to your main screen alternative in the unlikely eve...

Re: Parking

Not sure if this helps, but at the bottom of this page: http://www.myvue.com/cinemas/facilities ... herds-bush

It says
Parking at Shepherds Bush

Vue customers can park at the West 12 shopping centre and receive a 50% discount on parking all day.
Don't know if it'll apply to FF though.
