Re: Dead Shack

Good late night film but I only liked the Dad character and the young son needed his microphoned-haired headed ripping off.

Competent if uninspired and unoriginal.

Re: Overall Thoughts

I'm short so leg room is never an issue, what is an issue are the stair spacing on the Imax screen, they are not for anyone of any gait to walk up or down in any efficient manner. Upstairs in the Prince Charles is still quite uncomfortably hot sometimes, downstairs is lovely and it was the best plac...

Re: Killing Ground

7/10 - Pretty good example of the running-around-in-the-woods genre. But I need closure, dammit! What happened to Banjo? Survived... Must of if he beat a wild boar. Very good film, slow burn but not slow paced. Well acted, without knowing too much about characters had the necessary sympathy for the...

Re: Leatherface

Was exactly what I expected from a mainstream horror origin story so in that respect I can not be disappointed. The nurse was neither sympathetic or, well anything really so lets cheer for the Leatherface and his family. More wide shots of wheelchairs going through windows should be provided in many...

Re: Psychopaths

Horrible, boring and not a last movie of the night in anyone's book.

Masks do not a film make.

Should have been swapped with Meatball Machine Kodoku

Best overall film for me this one, well paced, well acted and well staged.

Funny, vulgar and gory.

Re: Freehold

Up there with the best of the festival for me.

Well pitched if a bit too long-a-runtime but well acted, well staged and well scripted.

Horrible nonsense but some nice visuals and acted well enough.

Re: Attack of the Adult Babies

If Sally Dexter was the one playing the lead nurse they she is the only redeeming thing about this piece of shit. Agree with jobly that the trailer editor was a master. I thought I'd see more shit rather than just 80 minutes of shit. Brunt has done some good stuff, this is far far from it. Good Lee ...

Re: Tragedy Girls

Enjoyed this as a last film, was worried it would grate but it turned out to be entertaining and not too overly long.

Leads were fine as were the minor characters.

Re: Tragedy Girls

Not going to rate this one as it would reflect more on how much I hated every second of its gratingly millenial, hashtagging duration rather than the actual quality of the film-making. I didn't so much as crack a smile. Not the worst film of the festival, but certainly my worst experience. Don't ev...

Re: Alone

If it is the first of a trilogy as Alan stated in his introduction then I won't be watching the next two.

Looked nice and the kids were good competent actors but I didn't find any of their characters likeable and didn't really care about any of it.

Re: The End?

Ran too long, didn't like the lead character and there was nothing remotely original about it. I thought the gap in the lift door could have worked well along with the establishing long corridor shot but neither of them were used in any tense of jump scare sense. Though slick and fairly well made an...

Re: Cult of Chucky

There is a comparison now I feel between the increasing amount of Chucky movies and the Hatchet series, the films along with the directors have taken it the baton handed to them willingly by the horror genre faithful and can go about building a legacy to fill a void left by what is always going to b...

Re: Victor Crowley

Judging by the hysterical reaction at the end, I'm going to be in a minority here... but I don't really like the Hatchet films. I'm thinking the standing ovation was less for the film and more for Adam, his trials and tribulations over the years, his monologue and also for Wes and George too. Enjoy...
