Re: Six films you must not miss at Frightfest 2015

So for me see Fantasy Film Fest Berlin ist over. here are some thoughts on the films I saw. Bite - following the notes coming out of Fantasia I had high expectations on this that unfortunately went unfulfilled. The problem is the script and/or editing which have resulted Ina very linear narratives. ...

Re: Six films you must not miss at Frightfest 2015

Of this years line-up I already saw: The Lazarus Effect (Fantasy Film Nights in Hamburg, Germany's equivalent of the Fright Fest Glasgow Weekender) which I found to be a little pedestrian. It explores some of the ideas of Joel Schumacher's Flatliners but takes the themes in a slightly different dire...

Re: FrightFest ticketing 2015

As every year the ticketing system is a joke. After waiting 45 minutes in the queue I have now been waiting 20 minutes while the system does nothing. I guess I won"t be coming this year. Fortunately I haven't booked flights and hotel yet. Poor show guys. And now I have been put back in the queue. I ...

Re: FrightFest Glasgow 2015

Somehow the whole buying tickets on the internet gets worse event-by-event.Nearly an hour after first trying I still haven't managed to buy a ticket!

Friday 23, 06:30 Update: Finally managed to get a ticket this morning. Or perhaps it's 2 :s I guess I will have to phone the box-office.

Re: Lineup announced - discussion/thoughts

Most esteemed fellow Fright-festers, could I please trouble you for some advice and/or recommendations? :?: There's a few annoying clashes in my pre-planned viewing schedule, but by far my most hair-tearing decision is that for the last film on Friday night (22nd). I'm in screen 7 (Horror channel) ...

Re: Lineup announced - discussion/thoughts

After visits to various other festivals I have already seen around 1/3 (22) of the titles to be screened at Frightfest. There are no spoilers below which limits what I can write. Here are my views on those films. I won't be coming this year :(. Perhaps I'll see you all again next year. Bad Milo has ...

LESSON OF THE EVIL
Takashi Miike's latest, ultraviolent and controversial would be a crowd favourite at FrightFest.
Lesson of Evil played Dead by Dawn back in the arse end of April so would be unlikely to appear.

Re: FrightFest 2014

Speculating on Frightfest films is one of my favourite pastimes. I keep an ever evolving list here. http://davidmalcolm.wordpress.com/2014/01/26/frightfest-speculation/ Housebound already played Dead by Dawn and so I would have thought is unlikely (which is a shame as for one would like to see it a...

I have seen both. Go see Willow Creek. Great film and a great guest. If you must see Frankensteins Army wait for it on DVD.

Re: Saturday in main screen. Thoughts?

I have a ticket for Willow Creek, but am really torn between this and Frankenstein's Army. Willow Creek looks like it may be the better film overall, but Frankenstein's Army looks like it could be visually great and has the added benefit of being on the main screen. Anyone seen both and have a reco...

Re: Saturday in main screen. Thoughts?

I won't be at Fright Fest this year (I have decided to attend Fantasy Film Fest which is on in Germany at the same time instead) but of the films showing I have already seen: American Scream - above average horror doc. Bring Me the Head of Machine Gun Woman - average Curse of Chucky - surprisingly g...
