Re: films we just saw

Raising JD is probably one of the weakest films Revolver have released - I'm actually quite impressed you saw it all the way through.. Saw Shutter Island at the weekend - very good. A solid 4 stars from me and the best film Scorsese has done in the last few years (apart from The Departed and ££).. D...

Re: TONY - Speical Preview Screening - Friday 29th Jan

Oh, and if any of you have ever fancied visiting PASAJE DEL TERROR in the Trocadero, we have a competition to win tickets to a screening at the venue on Tuesday 9th Feb. Gerard and Peter will introduce a free screening of the film at the venue, before a trip through the venue with food and drinks to...

TONY - Speical Preview Screening - Friday 29th Jan

Blatant plug I know, for which sorry, but this is one UK horror film that you should really catch. TONY (London Serial Killer) is released in Cinemas on February 5th (as well as Sky Box Office, iTunes, LOVEFiLM and FILMFLEX) and the DVD (with two short films and commentary) will be released the foll...

Re: Edinburgh Extreme Cinema Season

Wow - that's an amazing line-up.. Nekromantik on the big screen would really be something else.. Personally I really enjoyed Farewell Uncle Tom. It looks absolutely gorgeous, but it is jaw-droppingly offensive with it's racist undertones. However, I did also find it pretty funny (except the bit with...

Re: films we just saw

Pretty much agree with this review of Daybreakers 100%...

Worth a watch, most certainly, but a slightly botched execution means not much rewatchability and unfortunately not the classic it so could have been...

Definitely agree with Prime Cut , Island of Death (I've even got one of the songs on my iPod = "Get the Sword, kill them all!"), anything with Weng Weng and Just Another Love Story (thanks Giles!)... Received this in the post a couple of days ago - Born of Fire from the wonderful Mondo Macabro label...

Fair enough - I take on board everyone's comments (I knew my post might offend some), but I guess it was slightly ruined for me seeing that it has been massively hyped as hugely influential and the fact that pretty much everyone now knows the ending whether they've seen it or not.. It is a shame as ...

No real connection, other than the fact that, as Edgar mentioned in his intro, they are two of his favourite films ever and he'd never seen either of them on the big screen. So when PCC offered him the chance to select a double-bill, those were the two he chose... I have to say though (and apologies...

I could do with peoples thoughts on Dublins Horrorthon as I may go to that and then do the allnighter next year (presuming there is one) Rawshark and I went to Horrorthon last year - it's pretty awesome! They have some of the best retro screenings you are likely to find anywhere as well as some of ...

Funny - I didn't see Team Banzai's post before posting mine, as I was quite a long time in writing it up, but we bizarrely even used the same phrasing.. :D

Fair enough Heiko - we all pays our money and we all takes our choice.. To be honest, there's a lot going on that evening - it's almost too crowded in terms of UK Horror events... There's the FF all-nighter (the midnight screening of Paranormal Activity is brilliant scheduling).. Then of course ther...

Yes but i didnt want to give it away or spoil if for folks who hadnt seen it yet or the special actor in it ! Apologies if this was a spoiler - but I just want to say that ZOMBIELAND is the best film of the year, and yo...
