Re: Best 5 of the festival
Either I was the only person here to see it, or I completely misjudged it but I’m amazed nobody else is ranking The Laplace’s Demon. Such a smart premise, brilliantly constructed with clockwork precision and looks straight out of the 30s or 40s. It had a real Fermat’s Room or (retro) Cube feel to i...

In no particular order:
Crystal Eyes
Terrified
Climax
Luciferina
Incident in Ghostland
though it's a close run thing for numbers 5-7

Re: The Field Guide to Evil
I was glad this was a portmanteau film as that meant none of them lasted too long. That being said I did like the Turkish djinn story. I have no idea what was going on in the first one which appeared to offer equal amounts of sex and laundry but with no discernible plot.
Re: Climax
I wasnt expecting to enjoy this as much as I did. Maybe I'm wrong but I thought the villain was revealed at the end via the references back to the audition/intro clips.

Looking forward to where they take part 2. This was funny and inventive with some great effects.

Re: The Laplace's Demon
No gore, but tense and menacing. Shooting it in black and white gave it a period feel despite the modern tech on show. Can't say much without spoilers but if you are familiar with the story which must have inspired this, then it's a fab take on it.

Re: Luciferina
I agree also, this film was one of 4 Argentinian films I saw and I enjoyed all of them. Beautifully shot with great performances from the leading couple.

Re: Discovery/first blood tks
I feel bad for saying it, but I preferred Shepherd's Bush, took me a bit longer to get home but the seats had more leg room and there was a Poundland for snacks.

Re: Discovery/first blood tks
Well I'm pretty gutted - out of twelve Discovery tickets I wanted I've only got two, so I now need to rethink pretty much half of my weekend and I have no idea what I'm going to do. My ticket for Bad Samaritan vanished into thin air at the Basket stage and I still don't know what happened; since I'...

I got everything free except Night Sitter and Ghost Mask Scar. I caved and bought a ticket for GMS though.

Re: What Seat did you get? (2018)
I am on row J, hoping that my choice this year improves the leg room situation.
Re: Veronica
I enjoyed this a lot. I would actually like to see it again in time. I am sure there is much I missed first time round.
Re: Our Evil
This was one of my favourite films of FF. I also thought this was going in one direction only to be taken by surprise. I look forward to seeing more from Samuel Galli.
